I did bookmark a planet a while ago that, at the time, had arsenic on its surface. I just got back to it and I've been driving my SRV for over 10km and didn't get a single blip on my scanner. How is that possible?
Are there still issues with scanning on planets?

Are you using the Scarab or the Scorpion? According to the wiki, the Scorpion does not have the Wave Scanner.
Using the Scarab. I think they changed things since I last played. I picked up another planet that was listing a bunch of resources and there, I got some stuff. It seems you will find resources only if they are listed in the system map.
