Are these to pics linked ?

I was looking through all the ED pics and these 2 pictures seemed to have something in common ?

Is this wallpaper a representation of flying through the middle of this ship ?

Untextured ships really shouldn´t be shown in public

I agree partially with you.

In the news letters they have shown untextured ships to give the backer an idea as to how the game is progressing and it's appropriate there. However, I don't think that this ship has been shown anywhere yet (AFAIK) which makes me wonder what other spoilers are on that site.

Synchromesh, and others, add a spoiler tag next time please, just in case you find something you shouldn't :)

I think you are absolutely correct. I have the distinct recollection that this was mentioned in a dev vid. ;)

On the left is a zoom in on the front. they are the fighter launching bays. he talked about being able to fly in there in game, or at least between the 'prongs' of the ship.

Very cool.

My brain is more then a little foggy this morning, but I am certain that this was discussed in one of the videos, and yes, that is the same ship. I believe he also mentioned the name of the ship, which if I recall correctly is a Federation design.

All of the images on Photobucket will have been shown before. For those of you that think these images are familiar, that is because both of these images are from earlier newsletters:

The docking bay concept is discussed in Newsletter #3
Then early renders of the Federation Capital Ship are shown in Newsletter #5
