I think they just tried ship to ship as a tactic/research. Their next tactic, on foot...aka ground warfare.

Every time I trigger my SCO drive and I hear it scream before going into action - I remember that the Thargoids grow their tech organically and we just willfully borrow their technology without fully understanding the consequences.

I'm keeping all my engineered non-SCO drives safely in storage just in case. You never know what kind of wicked plot twist FD will pull

Are the Thargoids gone for good after the battle at SOL?

I don't think so, I've just been gathering some Thargoid materials in some of the destroyed Titan systems, before I head out into the black again to do some exploring.
I've been using a Mandalay for this (Not equipped with any anti-Thargoid stuffs btw.) but I stayed too long near an emerging Thargoid vessel in one system and was 'awarded' for this show of bravado by a screen stating I needed a re-buy ...so they're still about.

Shame on you Thargoids!, here I am trying the non aggressive approach (I haven't deployed my weapons at a Thargoid vessel for......must be at least 8 yrs or so), but still, maybe there's some other Alien races out there we don't know about other than Thargoids & Guardians I can cosy up to in the meantime.
