General / Off-Topic Are Threads Getting Moved To Fast

What’s up with all these threads on Griefing, Ganking, unwanted PVP getting moved so fast.
There are so many sub thread groups that I rarely look at other than the main discussion group.
I never go into the PVP thread because I don’t care to do PVP but I do care about talking about what goes on in open.
I mean these topics are interesting to more than just PVP oriented commanders.

A thread that was just started “Why do people Kill you for no reason “ and it got moved to PVP sub thread,
What do you thing those PVP’res would say “ It’s our right to kill you, go in Solo “.
By moving them doesn’t make the problem go away these threads just keep popping up because it’s an important topic and commanders are getting frustrated.
What are you so afraid of by moving them off where only a select few commanders will see them.

There are so many sub threads on every topic that every new thread that starts in the general discussion group could get moved into a sub thread.

So my question for this thread are topics getting moved that should stay in general for a while longer.
Not to cause a problem but this general group is where the largest cross section of commanders look at and take part in
so wouldn’t it be a better service to keep some topics everybody would be interested in here.
You also get a broader variety of opinions and feed back to a given topic, isn’t that what this forum is all about to begin with.

I would say let them run for a couple of days and when they slow down then move them.

I would suggest that most members click on New Posts rather than paging over to Dangerous Discussion. If a post is active it will continue to remain in New Posts no matter what sub-forum including PVP it is in. Once activity ceases the post is where it belongs. Also when members want to see what is being discussed in PvP they can go there as well as members who don't want to go there. The system works.

I always click on new posts have never understood the need to pigion hole myself or give my playstlye a heading, and I do have the PVP section on ignore as I have zero interest in it.

The thing is so many of those threads about how to fix this or why do people do xyz are rinse and repeat of the same old same old.

Such threads showcase the Original Design Sin of the trade off between PvE kit (cargo racks, refineries, scanners, srvs etc) and PvP kit (SCBs, HRPs, guardian shield reinforcements). This means you can only ever be either playing the game, or on the prowl to ruin the fun of some random trying to 'play the game' (ie for game rewards like credits and mats). In PvE kit your best outcome is to run. So this design choice essentially means that the only players that can safely enjoy the social advantages of the game are ... the toxic sociopaths that want to see the world burn.

I think if Brett wanted absolute consistency he'd write a script to do it. Each thread is presumably judged on it's merits. Plus sometimes stuff gets moved by mistake - you could always ask for them to be moved back again using the report function.

This thread should probably be in forum feedback for example, or maybe should have been a PM to Brett.

I really think threads should be left here as long as possible. It really annoys me when you (for example) you post up an idea and it gets moved to suggestions where let's be honest nobody will see it.

Since certain topics always rapidly descend into the same old duality arguments, I am happy to see them "re-zoned" quickly.

In fact I'd like to see a write-only sub-forum for a lot of it. (Well OK, I wouldn't "see" it but I would be able to detect its presence by the altered state of the universe. ;) )

Moved to Off Topic.

Thread isn't about the game.

Explaining the reason why a thread is moved is generally a good move I think. The reverse is also helpful but happens more rarely. That way the thought process can be understood even if the individual reading takes a different view. Usually it is obvious though.
