It gives more depth to it and a real sense of accomplishment to achieving this goal then the other like the bounty CG that completed during it.
It toke alot of effort by those of us that were in it and we even got a local news that was rather lengthy regarding it. That restored faith I had in FD by alot. I don't want something that is just an endless grind for credits. I want something that actually gives depth to this galaxy. I don't really like trading. I however like what FD is doing here and I support it. I just hope that the next one isn't trading cause I need a break from it.
I like there being more to this then simply a big bonus check in credits but a real feel you accomplished something in the game.

Ben I would like to apologize if I was at all brash with you yesterday. My temper was alittle hot at the time. I like how these CGs are going now. Like how I said yesterday I wanted to see a continuation of the story or something for our effort and FD delivered. I admit it could of been done slightly better but it is enough to make me happy. Hopefully FD continue to improve.

They seem to be making efforts regarding the Universe a lot more regarding Galnet and that's a good thing.
So happy to see that tbh.
If you make Ben a cuppa tea he'll surely forgive you, he likes that kinda thing.

I've got some tea in my ship if he wants to join me in my ASP. Its not very luxurious but I'll try and clean it up some.

OK, here's my 5 cents worth...

I tried powerplay once and didn't like it. When bad CG's came out I looked into it more and found that at rank 5 it could be quite lucrative. In the beginning getting there is pretty tough because the entry bar to rank 5 is set pretty high. But once you get there, after 1 week you start being payed 50mil and in my power's case double bounties. Once you play for a a reasonable amount of time you actually start to care about fortifying your systems or choosing the right expansion targets.

Yesterday I was on early when the new cycle has just started and there were no candidates for expansion yet. So instead of supporting someone else's candidates, I had to choose my own. I though about a system that would bring in good profit, be easy to fortify and will prevent another power's expansion into my territory. I then flew there to prepare it, so it would be in the list of choices for expansion. Once it was in the list of choices I backed it with all my votes. When I woke up this morning it was still number two and close to being number one of the backed systems due to other people agreeing with my decision and backing it. So I feel like I am actually making a difference.

So I recommend that you look into it more, as I do hope you can stay addicted, just like me :)

What do a bunch of us hate doing most? Grinding. Grinding for Cr, spending half an hour to get from point A to point B. That seemingly endless last 20Ls to the drop zone that takes as long as the first 300Ls. The endless countdown to this or that or the other.

Would we jump 400Ly and go through all of those for an hour or more to see a capital ship vs capital ship engagement? Hell yeah. I don't even need to participate, just want to see it. I won't spend that much time even for 5000Cr/ton trade. Give me something amazing that the game already offers sparingly as if it's a rare vaccine, and I'll be on that. Hell, let me drive the capital ship. I'll stuff it in the mail slot.

Yes, once I've done everything useful in the game like maxed military rank with Feds and Empire, achieved all available permits and made triple Elite I might try Powerplay for a day. Then the day after I'll take a month long break.

I think it's pretty obvious that the Plague is part of a Thargoid attack in which case, FD is banking on a certain outcome from the CGs that will lend itself to the Alien impending attack. Why else would they be so unwinnable?

I doubt you will make rank 5 in one day, which is what you are compelled to do :)

I don't know how anyone could interpret this to be anything other than an unqualified success on Frontiers part- that's an astonishing amount of time put into a game. A bizarre amount of time really, almost a bit sad. Boredom for you is a very healthy reaction at this point :)
