Are we getting fish in PZ or a separate "Planet Aquarium"

I must say, the second option would be rather poor since many zoos have aquarium elements. For example, Amazonian exhibits have species like arapaima, piranha, pacu, etc. You also have zoos with marine aquariums in them, hence why many zoos are called "____ Zoo and Aquarium"
I suspect possibly both. Maybe we'll get some limited aquarium options for PZ (like aquariums themselves, and possibly an update that allows us to place aquatic animals in normal habitats, maybe with interspecies bonuses).

Also, maybe along the line a future Planet Aquarium, which I suspect will feature aspects of both Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster, such as aquatic animals and rides.

But that's my theory

Planet Aquarium = imo not likely. Don't think there's a large crowd for buying that game.
Would been a preferable option actually, at least it could have in-depth features.

I could see a (basic) aquarium feature, with a few sizes of aquariums and a (limited) customization comparable to the current exhibits.

I'd love to see some smaller fish aquariums that would work as exhibits, but honestly I don't expect to see full on large marine animal content in this game. I fully expect we're going to get a Planet Aquarium as one of the next "Planet" games. Heck I'm just hoping we indeed do get avian animals much less fully aquatic.

I'd prefer a new game, and I think it would have its crowd, but I think the likeliest option is we'll never get fully aquatic species at all.

Maybe if there is Planet Zoo 2, like what happened in JWE2

I really don't see the point of making a separate aquarium game... it's the same game, but with fish and sharks and stuff, right? What would the benefit of doing that be exactly? It would be like Return to Jurassic Park but with animals instead of buildings.

YESSSSSS EXACTLY 👏 I completely agree, it's just adding fish to an already stellar game! If they add birds eventually....they can add fish.

There are multiple problems that you are overlooking.
1. - We dont know IF frontier will add birds or are even capleable of adding them , we just really really really want them to
2. - Having small fish would either be boring uncustomisable exhibits if they were added to planet zoo, while designing there tanks would be the focus in a seperate game (doesnt mean i dont want fish as exhibits, its just the truth)
3. - Adding Fish=/= Adding Birds : Birds and semiaquatic animals all overlap with noirmal habitat animals, fish dont

It would be nice to be able to include tanks at our zoos. I think it would be pretty easy using the exhibit mechanics. It's just that the tanks would need to be bigger. Perhaps with different shapes, like elongated, oval, etcetera. Several set shapes to pick from. We might not be able to make custom aquariums, but I'd be fine with this.

My guess is we’d have a better chance of getting a standalone game honestly. May not be a popular opinion around here but I’d honestly rather have a planet aquarium then a JWE2. In fine jwe fashion I was disappointed to learn sandbox mode items would have to be unlocked again which only added to that opinion for me. That and considering PK is coming( which I see being the better game if ever finished properly). Shoot I’d rather see a planet prehistoric tbh but I suppose the jwe franchise simply makes frontier too much money especially considering it’s cross platform playing options.

I'd love to see a Planet Prehistoric, like Frontier's version of Jurassic Park/World, so they can make up their own story, their own methods of obtaining DNA, the looks of their dinos; everything will be Frontier's design and idea, so they won't be limited by Universal. That would be great

It’s true that many zoos have an aquarium but for me it comes back to the point that we aren’t going to have support for the game forever. So if we get aquariums, we don’t get something else - ie habitat animals and they are my priority. I don’t think we’ll get aquariums and I don’t really want them either even if I can see the appeal.

I base my opinion off the same idea. Who wouldn’t love a eventual marine dlc actually featuring fully aquatic animals. The games lifespan of support most likely being the deciding factor. With support rumored to continue till the end of 2022 fingers crossed we know at some point a NA and likely aves pack are on the way. A possible endangered and European pack could be on the horizon. A Central American pack featuring the heavily requested capybara could be possible. All those considered doesn’t really leave a lot of room left really. I guess I could even see planet coaster 2 possibly adding a marine addition to the game. I feel if another 2-3 yrs support was to happen the chances of getting a dlc or two of marine animals would be much better.
