So I'm flying my light-weight fragile Viper mk3 for a couple days now. Its amazingly cool, so I figured I might as well try the new BH CG. At some point I am invited into a wing by an elite cmdr in a Conda. Sure, why not. He's all MC/booster, I can bring some puny firepower and a KWS. A little later another elite cmdr joins, this time its a Cutter. Its quite fun. Not a lot of communication but we make good work. At one time we bump into each other and he politely asks if I am fine. So its just a nice and calm session so far.
Then suddenly some evil Archon Delaine cmdr, elite ranked too, in an FdL shows up. He is wanted (256k), on his own, so we bravely gank up on him.
Much to my surprise he doesnt leave but rather fights back. At some point I am starting to become seriously dead weight: I already scanned him, am out of ammo and I cant get him to target me instead of the conda/cutter. More troubling is that this cmdr is keeping his shields up very well, and is dishing out to my conda-friend very hard. At some point he is literally parked right against the conda shredding him apart, with the conda not moving. I try to bump the FDL away from the conda but it doesnt go very well.
Then POOF. Like magic the conda is gone, and removed from my wing.
I cant think too much about it as this time the FdL becomes rather interested in my Viper. I dont know what his build was but he kept doing some damage over 3500m away, and my lightweight Viper cant handle much. I hi-wake with 23% thruster integrity left. I hi-wake back to the CG system and notice the FDL is now chasing my other wingman through SC, who makes it back to the station at the same time as I do. I google this ne'er-do-well Archon pirate and find nothing but positive stories. How he kept fighting difficult odds. Or this one:
I also google my wingmate who mysteriously vanished and find nothing but a combat-logging vid. I'm not gonna name this wingmate, but would like to give props to our evil cmdr dangerous.com. Very well played indeed! I had some lame code cmdr in an FdL try to annoy my cute little viper by trying to fly through my MC (and failing), and then opening fire with me just walking away. That was sad. But cmdr dangerous.com basically did everything right from my perspective, and should have been rewarded with at least one kill. Maybe another day.
tl;dr it sucks to be the 'good guys' and then to have your wingmate CL on you...
