Are you a neutron star hunter?

Nope. I'm a black hole hunter. I scanned over 1000 black holes during my current trip (kept score of it) and probably about the same number (did not keep score back then) during my previous trip to the core and back. Only scanned a handful of neutron stars. Couldn't care less about neutron stars. I'm not THAT kind of explorer.

Do no mind me asking, but how do you identify those for course plotting?

No I'm not, but I do have first discovered tags on some :)

Would it be closer to the center I guess?

I guess it depends on if you are exploring simply to get the Elite rank or exploring just to well, erm explore. :D

Quickest way to make money and rank up is unfortunately by either the tried and tested honk - scan main star - Fuel Scoop - Jump - Honk - repeat or Neutron farming. Shame there is no reward for people who scan the full system (other than the glory of getting that first discovered by tag).

I'm generally one of the "have to scan everything" types, I blame my slightly OCD brain for that, I can't leave stuff unscanned, it just looks messy! :p

Sagittarius/Carina arm. Once I decided to find an untagged one it took a while to find, as someone else had been through the area and tagged almost every Neutron star, but nothing else....

Nope, can't imagine a way to make my favourite in-game activity any more boring than neutron farming.

I guess if I was a few % from elite in exploration I might see the temptation.

Not THAT kind of explorer, but I did accidently discover one of the first regions & map it out. Spent a day mapping and moved on.. Still not Elite explorer rank, and I've spent roughly six months in total out in the black.

On my trip to Sag A i spent a week or two in neutron field, and i will never ever do it again. I love exploring, but that was the only grindy part of my exploring experience, i wont do it again.

Jeez :/ There are hundred's of millions of stars in each region. The one I found was 14000LY's wide

Politely disagree.

Perhaps, since I do not do it in an easy way - i.e. staying away form the center.

Spotting the next closest neutron star as a destination for the next leg gives me the sense of purpose and some sort of achievement. Then rather wondering around randomly.

I do not support center of the galaxy runs though - too easy

In realistic view blackholes are black ;)

If I'm near a neutron field I fly through it and tend to end my plots on neutrons but don't farm specifically.

Technically yes. When doing deep space exploration Why not go 1 KLY above or below the plane for a high chance of neutron stars and white dwarfs. Currently returning from beagle point ans there's almost 30KLY of neutron stars in a straight line. I'm pretty much going to stumble upon a 100 NSs just by normally plotting my course in the field.

nope. never have been at the neutron fields. but if a see an unusal startype while setting up the next route, i always to a detour. found one, which wasn't the main star - this is a find i still love.

Not long back from the Neutron star field scanning Neutrons and Black Holes.
Bottom line, Neutrons (43k approx)work out around 1000-1500 cr less than a Black Hole (45k approx) but are in far better abundance so if your wanting Cr for Elite rank, hunt for Neutrons (at 16k Ly from the bubble, it's not really a hunt).
Also, from my study of exploration data, Metal planets seem to add about 30k Cr if Terraformable, and range from 5k-13k non Terra.
White Dwarfs were coming in at approx 27k Cr.
I know there are Wiki's etc but the ranging of Cr seemed a little off and vague in some cases like Black Hole value.

I was looking for system with as many black holes as possible... finally I found one system with 6 black holes then I called it a day and went back to the bubble.

Next I'd like to find a system with more than 1 Earth-Like World.

I've been lots of types of explorer. Scan everything. Cherry pick. Neutron farm. Pick a place in the middle of nowhere. POI tourist. Day trips. Core trips. Distant worlds trip. Speed jumping. Economy jumping.
