aye neutron boosting through the fields is gloriously fast! you need a field of neutrons though that's the stumbling block, and stop for a full re-fuel every so often 7-8 jumps in my current build along with some FSD repairs.

best way to travel IMO

Have to say, I'm really excited on getting about getting lighter sensors and faster DSS for my sidey. Hoping to go exploring with 30ly jump range...

I'm out in mine at the moment just shy of 24Ly range. Only thing I miss is the srv due to lack of internals

I unlocked and maxed out all the current Engineers back in November but need materials and things to take advantage of them with my ships. I feel like a kid in a hardware store right now, but minus the hardware...

I've been reluctant to rank up Combat since the higher your rank, the high the rank of NPCs that interdict you.

Once you're ranked up you are also tooled up with the xp to deal with them.

I've been doing a lot of Imperial missions recently (after finding I didn't have an appropriate ship to attack a pirate goon with, I realised with some chagrin that I'd have to keep a PvP Cutter knocking around on the off-chance the same situation arose...) and to my shock I find myself not only several hundred MCr better off than I was, but worryingly close to become Trading Elite (something I've always treated with disdain.) Now my contempt for Trading rank is vying against a nascent completionism...
