Are you guys happy with the current game and how the game has developed?

Just wondering what people think about the game at the moment.
I paid 150$ (The the two 75$ betas)plus a few skins to support the devs and I honestly feel that they haven't lived up to anything close that could of been. So no, Im not. Not trying to start a flame war, just wondering what you guys think.

Am I happy with the game in it's current state: Yes, I am still finding things to do
Are there problems with the game: Yes, of course there are: bugs, exploits allowed to continue, MAJOR lack of explanation on how things are supposed to work or be achieved.
Am I happy with the proposed direction of the game: Yes and no, worried too many cries for things like atmospheric landings and space legs will, even done, be done rushed and only partially complete or thought out. Happy the next phase will be concentrating on fixing the core game.

I usually rate games by "hours having fun playing the game/€" - how much time I've spend playing the game and enjoying it and how much did I pay for that time. Fun-hours/€ if you want.

Using this metric Elite Dangerous is the absolutely best game I've ever played - or the cheapest.

Other than that: I enjoy playing the game - after playing this game for almost 3 years.
Do I think the game could be better? Yes.
Do I think the game should get better? Yes.
Do I think this game is the best possible game based on the developers, development time, money available for development? I don't know. Maybe? Maybe not?

I can imagine how you feel having spent $150.

That said, I've enjoyed my $45 dollar purchase on the XBOX so much I bought the game again on PC ($40) and PS4 ($50). And I've probably spent $50 in the Frontier store.

I really like the game, but wish we have some of the new content like Wing Missions and Squdrons as most of my game time is spent playing with friends.

Pretty much this, for me.

I've enjoyed almost all of my near 900 hours (on PC) plus 300 hours on XBox I get bored every now & again but ED isn't the only toy in my toybox. I get bored, I play something else for a bit.

Could it be better? of course it can but I am a patient gamer & ED has a ten year plan with a good few years still left so I'm willing to wait.

Will it get better? Of course it will.

Is it going to please everyone, nope.

What im really hating is that Frontier is acting like a company that sold us a full product. If youre going to sell us promises of content and an unfinished product

You have to understand that I did massive amounts of research on the game long before spending a penny on it, let alone around 200$.

my anger to this game isn't coming from anger, but from the fact that i feel like I was screwed.

The devs don't care and they don't read these forums. All these debates are for nothing as I found out a long time ago.

I spent the same as you and have got my moneys worth already. And it's a Lifetime Expansion pass. Your post history shows you're a bit on the glass half full side. Be positive the games getting better all the time.

There are things in this game that absolutely amaze me, even to this day. There are other things that frustrate me, and other things that disappoint me. My current signature is because of bugs - no, not Thargoids, that 2.4 brought to my PS4 that are ruining my experience with the game, but as soon as Frontier fixes those bugs (dear Lord I hope they fix those bugs), I will return to loving this game again, even with all its faults.

Overall yes, (I must do, as I bought an LEP and second account :D ) It's not perfect, but I'm still hooked and am still enjoying it (and hope to continue doing so..)

This, but with a catch. Other games like dual universe and battlescape are getting closer and they got many feature I from the start hoped we would get in ED. Because the devs was building Elite, not a completely new game. Therefor I expected some of the same features in the game. So far not even mentioned but let's see 2018.

No. Not happy.

They say "blaze your own trail"...but the tools with which to blaze are incredibly limited in scope.
Can't really be a smuggler.
Can't raid moon bases for data to turn a profit.
Can't really scavenge for a profit with a 2 item limit on SCV cargo plus the worth of what you're scavenging.
Can't really be a pirate anymore with the cargo restrictions.

Exploring would be interesting if every single moon didn't look exactly the same, down to the same composition of pebbles, rocks, and boulders. No cave systems, or any significant geological features.

Mission system is completely randomized with RNG re: time vs reward.

PVE combat is always the same...not very challenging.
CQC is dead. Easier to just play EVE: Valkyrie.

People say this game will get better.....sooo when is that? I've been waiting a couple years already. They have my money. Frankly my patience ran out, which is why I don't play ED anymore.

I'm satisfied. I like that word better than Happy.

I'm approaching 2,400hrs in the game, which is more than 3x any other game I've ever owned. That speaks for itself right there.

Of course I would like more ships, more planet types, more astronomical anomalies, more ships, more engineers, more modules, more depth to missions, etc. And of course I would like those to all be released next Tuesday. But I can be patient, and I will continue to be. Hopefully this game will realize even half of its potential in the next few years.

Even if I consider the price of the game, cosmetics, video card, and HOTAS, it's still FAR cheaper per hour than my other hobbies.

I'm very pleased with the game. I don't know how much I've spent on my 4 licenses, gift licenses, paint, wep colors, etc., but I'm sure I'm far north of double the 150 that the OP has spent.

It's not perfect, but it's the best spaceship flying game available. It's so far ahead of its "competition" that they'll never catch up. ED will be on its sequel before anything catches its first iteration.

Yes, I complain about bugs and such. Who doesn't get frustrated when the same bugs pop back up after being "fixed"? But overall, it's the best on the market.

1700+ hours and still loving it. Must say if not for my player group and the fact that we're quite creative when it comes to events etc. I'd probably didn't play it as often as I do. The game has many placeholders and I just try to avoid those and enjoy what is more or less developed.

Twenty-two weeks in game (not Steam weeks) and a fleet of ships.

The short answer: Yes.

Next question.
