Are you packing heat?

I know that explorers usually aren't equipping any weapons to in keep their jump distance as high as possible. In my Cobra I was unarmed and ignored USS:s that popped up even in relative deep space. But with the Asp I have a few lasers, of course I will not be anyway near competitive in a real firefight but still hold my own against NPC:s and maybe surprise a player just trying to pick an easy target on my way in or out of "civilized" space.

Also I quite like to have a few lasers ready to go, feels a little comfy. Sure I cut my range a little, but not that much. I can live with just over 30+ LY and feel that my ship is all that she can be.

I don't carry weapons or shields. I do carry 1 heat sink launcher, always. There are rare killer systems out there.

No weapons. My Asp has some basic shield, chaff and point defence (all turned off in deep space, ofc), and that's it.

Having weapons in exploration is not necessarily the most useful, it can go for days without seeing a ship. Having a heat sink launcher is convenient but like it enough to pay attention and to preserve its hull.

Armed to the teeth. Mainly for the trip out and approach back to 'civilised' space. Although the weapons are also good at venting your anger at that star's corona that you just landed in on system entry. That'll teach the buggers! :p

No weapons, just a shield.

Though the last two trips I haven't been interdicted at all - I pick a system right on the edge of the bubble with a station/outpost close to the star to sell my data then plot a 600ly route there and RUN! Skim/scoop/jump and repeat, no scanning, no hanging about to look at the pretty view.

I think I'll be removing the shield next time I'm back. Unless I chicken out.

I have a small shield and a power distribution that will give me, one boost or so. I'm not too worried about interdiction. Well, a little worried about that. What I am worried about is a docking accident.

I have an AFMU, but no heat sinks.

Also, no weapons. Well, other than my razor sharp wit. :)

I have a small shield for getting away, but as I haven't seen a ship for 6 weeks I think weapons might be overkill.

I'm in a clipper with 4 C2 Beams. I downgraded the C3's to C2's to get my jump range to 22.75LY. I like having over 22LY jump. I would love to see an increase of about 15LY in my jump range to get places quicker :)

I also have a 6A shield on me.... I downgraded from a 7 Shield to 6 so that I could get a 7 size fuel scoop.

Take a D shield. A 7D offers around the same protection as a 6A, but is lighter. I think the 6D mass loss will give enough for class 3 weapons again.

The 6A shields put me over 22LY, while the 7D put me at 2.19LY. that is why I did it that way

I carry shields just in case I am stupid enough to get back to the station with a weeks worth of data to accidentally hit Tab inside the Port.
True story.

No weapons. But I roleplay a character that won't fight anyway.

Heatsinks aplenty.
