I remember once someone saying, when asked, that proximity to a star in supercruise also speeds up paint degeneration. If you're scooping and you go over 80% heat, your paint burns off quicker. After hearing that, I spent more time with my heat warning blaring and it sure seemed like I was able to get the paint off quicker, though I accept it could have been in my head and my total time spent in supercruise might have been appropriate to the wear., irrespective of the heat.
Can anyone comment on that, at all?
