Horizons Are you still able to play the old elite dangerous after upgrading to horizons

I play the game on both my mac and my pc.

If I upgrade to horizons will I then be unable to play the game anymore on my mac?

Or would the accounts diverge somehow such that my mac will log into the old servers and the pc into the new servers (if there are even different servers)

Or is the only option to buy the game anew and start from scratch on horizons (or vice versa)

FD client has three options.

Elite Horizon
Elite 64bit
Elite 32bit
So yes you can play any one of them if you so plz.Also the save is the same,As the save is server side.

The only time you don't get that option elite 32bit or elite 64bit is if you run horizon on steam.

support contacted same issue day 2,

click on
elite horizon 64 bit , play button vanishes the reappears thats it
elite 64 bit is the same :(

I think maybe I wasn't clear on my question. I have not upgraded yet for the fear I will be unable to use the upgraded save on my mac anymore.

So horizons has new ships that the old dangerous doesn't have. So if my save on my horizons has one of the new ships and I pull up the game on my mac (which doesn't have horizons for obvious reasons) what is going to happen?
