Quite a stir seems to have been whipped up with the announcement of an upgrade of your access level to Alpha from the previously un-upgradable access levels.
What are you going to do about it?

Nope, but, when the time comes, IF my initial pledge is updated to include the cost of the season pass in the recent shop, ie taking the value to £85 rather than £50

I believe I WILL upgrade to premium beta (beta 1) if that ever gets offered as an option.

Happy to stick with my modest standard beta and enjoy the Youtube footage until get my hands on it.

Plus need to upgrade the PC to play it anyway.

Frontier should drop everything and make sure everyone is happy! The game isn't important, stop developing the game NOW and make sure everyone has Alpha/Beta or whatever they want at the price they want. Access now for everyone the game be damned!

and stuff.

If there were a discount I may upgrade :(

I was thinking about it but I realised that I have more than £115 worth of patience ;)

+1 although in my case its about 125 euros in patience.

Unless they would actually apply a discount. i.e. charge less for the upgrade. Then I'd have to make another value assessment, and possibly would upgrade.

I'm at the £150 founder level conundrum, spend another £100 for alpha and be out of pocket by an extra £50 compared to KS £200 backers.
If it was taking into consideration, the extra amount backed and only charging £50, I would be all over it.
But £100, on top of an already backed £150.
Thanks for the offer, but no thanks.

Serves me right really, I should of originally backed at the £200 level or more and saved myself the frustration AND be already testing Alpha.

I'll save the cash and spend it on the shop when it has some in game fluffy dice.

Unfortunately my kickstarter contribution was quite low by necessity of being a student. The amount offered at 'discount' to upgrade to alpha was still very high for would have cost me about £165 and I just cannot justify or afford that level of expenditure at the moment. Might upgrade to the standard beta though...

Maybe if I grovel hard enough and offer up a few burnt offerings Mr. Braben will bless me with a more substantial discount?

No complaints though, the footage so far looks absolutely fantastic...it just makes the waiting that bit more unbearable!

the word on the street is that Frontier are looking into this.

Voted staying at premium Beta, but only cos I couldn't afford the extra £100 in the backers app and still can't afford it now ... on a side note I was able to go to the £150 level during the backers app but didn't think that the reward "Founding member" was worth £50 - seems I was right

I am not sure they are, when someone asked about fixing this problem they asked if the answer "It's something we are looking into" was aimed at their question the reply was

No, I didn't see your post. The discount is applied to products in the store not your reward level, there's a known issue that the expansions product not being listed for backers.

Michael

So it seems the "problem" they are looking into is the expansion pass not appearing in the store for those who had pledged at that level ... not the reward level thing ...

nope, premium beta is really all i need ;)

though you got me hesitating for 0.67 seconds or so.

the way i see it, alpha has already begun, and has therefore lost part of its value, paying it the same price it had before it even started or higher seems too high a price for me.

i'll stick to my beta1.

Maybe you should send them a mail or private message. I can only imagine they would want to allow founders to boost up to the full alpha level if they wished.

Staying at Standard Beta. Too expensive for me, which is an observation not a complaint. I have no complaint about the prices or any expectation that I should have alpha access at a price I want to pay.
