Arendelle Zoo

Hello! I got the game in August and I want to share my first zoo with you. I am still learning and getting used to the game, so there's a lot that can be improved, especially indoor areas. Since I am currently living in Finland, I wanted to create a nordic style zoo and I had the idea of building the zoo of the Kingdom of Arendelle. It is set in the present day, after the events of Frozen 2.

After entering the zoo, guests arrive at a big traditional square with a fountain with ice animal and some shops, services and an exhibit.

We start the tour going to the left. After crossing the arch, we arrive to a huge building, Harold Pavillion, named after the founder of the zoo, King Harold. He loved reptiles, so in the building we can find iguanas, tortoises and the gharial. One of the tortoise species also has a small outdoor area for the summer months.

Adjacent to this building there's Oaken Hall, a big expansion to the reptile house sponsored by the Oaken family. It houses the saltwater crocodile. To improve traffic flow, both buildings were connected.

In front of Oaken Hall, we find the American bison, with the clock tower peaking in the background. On the other side of the left side fence there's a similar habitat for the pronghorn.

Following the path, we get to the wolves and they have a natural habitat with rocks and a waterfall. There's a lovely viewpoint next to the small lake to see the wolves swimming.

Very nice zoo! You are relly good at building if you got the game just in August. My first zoo very just squere habitats and alot of unfilled space. 😂

After visiting our wolfy friends, we arrive to another big square. One side has a quite traditional nordic style look. There are shops and some exhibits. Once again, the clock tower can be seen in the background, since we are now in the axis of the zoo entrance.

On the other side of the square there's a lemur house, more seating area and the viewpoint for the wolves on the left.

We follow our way and we find the camels on our left and the gemsboks on our right.

20200922163724_1.jpg

Now we get to Agnarr African House. King Agnarr was a powerful king and he built this giant building for African animals to protect them from the winter cold in Arendelle. Most of the animals have an outdoor area too for the summer months.

The exit of the African House leads us to another square where we find the main station for the Olaf Express.

20200922164351_1.jpg

Instead of going under the station, we are taking the path on the left side.

20200922164438_1.jpg

Here we find the llamas and a new building, Queen Iduna Hall, which is right behind the lemur house we visited before. This hall contains a South America habitat with anteaters, tapirs and capuchin monkeys.

From South America we go to North America and we find rocky habitats for the grizzly bears and dall sheep. The mountains/rocks on the back side of these habitats are the mountains that we saw in the wolf habitat before. There's also a lake on one side, since nature is all around the zoo.

As you can see, this path takes us back to Oaken Hall where the crocodiles are, but just before there's a path going to the right which connects to a large square. That's where we can find Queen Elsa's contribution to the zoo...

So we continue our tour around the zoo and we arrive to a very large square which has another train station for the Olaf Express, restrooms, shops and the huge Elsa Ice Palace, built by the queen herself thanks to her icy powers.

20200922164918_1.jpg

Inside the ice palace, we find more shops and the stars of the building, a family of polar bears: mum, dad and two cubs.

20200922165005_1.jpg

Apart from the indoor area, the bears also have a huge outdoor habitat to explore. There are some viewpoints and even an underwater viewing point.

20200922165023_1.jpg

The ice palace has a large wall facing an area of about 1400 sq meters which hopefully will become an artic fox habitat in the future. At the other end of the building, there's a corridor facing the artic wolf habitat too.

Elsa Ice Palace is the most popular place in the zoo, and the polar bears are the most popular animals in the zoo. After exploring this wonderful area, we go back to the entrance of the zoo. We had taken the path to the left, so now we will take the path to the right and explore the other half of the zoo.

20200922162243_1.jpg

When we go through the right arch on the entrance square, we discover the Japanese macaques and a stable with grass on the roof, which is the shelter for the reindeers.

20200922165506_1.jpg

Reindeers are very important in Arendelle and they have a nice large habitat in the zoo. They can be seen in their shelter and all over the traditional wooden bridge at the back of the habitat. On the other side of the bridge, there are the gemsboks that we saw before.

20200922165550_1.jpg

Facing these animals, we find some exhibits and an old church which has been converted into an orangutan house (it was one of the first buildings I did and it turned to be out of proportions haha).

20200922165646_1.jpg

Next to the church, we start exploring the Asian part of the zoo. The first small building is where we can visit the Chinese pangolin and the second building is the third station for the Olaf Express.

20200922165712_1.jpg

We follow the path and discover a waterfall and a small peafowl habitat whee we can get in.

20200922165918_1.jpg

After enjoying the scenery, things get interesting when we get to the big cats. Snow leopards and Siberian tigers have nice habitats and we can see them from the elevated viewpoints.

20200922165929_1.jpg

20200922165940_1.jpg

On our route through Asia, we have seen the pangolin, peafowl, snow leopard and Siberian tiger on the right side. On the left side, there are some islands where the red pandas and the Asian bears live. We can see these animals from several viewpoints, but we can algo get on a boat tour to see them closer.

First we find the red panda habitat.
20200922165829_1.jpg

Then we see the Himalayan Brown bear island in the middle of the river. At the background, there's the formosan black bear.
20200922165901_1.jpg

20200922165846_1.jpg

Finally, we arrive at the habitat for the adorable panda bears. They can be seen from the boat, the wood bridge, a normal viewing area and from the inside of their Asian themed shelter.

The path leads us now back to the square where the Agnarr African House exit was and where the main train station for the Olaf Express is. Last time we took the path to the left, so now we are going under the station to explore tha last part of the zoo.

20200922164351_1.jpg

So we walk now under the train station and we get to the latest addition to the zoo: Anna Australia House.

20200928213355_1.jpg

20200928213456_1.jpg

Inside the large building, we have two sides. On the right side, there are some shops, an exhibit and the dingo habitat.

20200928213545_1.jpg

20200928213617_1.jpg

On the other side, there's a mixed habitat for kangaroos and koalas.

20200928213725_1.jpg

We end our visit to the zoo checking the outdoor areas for the Australian animals during the summer.

20200928213840_1.jpg

We have come to the end of our tour around Arendelle Zoo for the time being. However, as you can see, the area around Anna Australia House is waiting to be developed. The plans are to grow a forest around the building with animals like the moose, deer, wolverine, fox, badger... So hopefully we get a North America or Europe DLC soon.

I will share tomorrow some views from above which help to understand better the layout of the zoo. I hope you enjoyed the tour.

I want to end this zoo tour with a couple of aerial views and some night shots. I know there are a lot of things to improve, but I really like how Arendelle Zoo has turned out (bearing in mind that it's my first zoo).
