The is no way of measuring and comparing the playing skill/ability of 2 perfect strangers who know nothing of each other.

I don't care about the hardware, it's irrelevant. The header assumes "equal skill", and that's an entity you cannot define.

For all you know, the other player could be vastly superior and have suffered a sneezing fit during the fight, his wife interfered, he tipped over his mug of coffee, urgent phone call, dodgy internet, cat jumped onto his keyboard, he

You winning or loosing proves zip.

"Equal skill" is a theoretical and undefinable term.

The 'best' pilot is the one who wins.

I tolerate the hard points on the Anaconda. But the Python weapon convergence is so much tighter and 4/5s of its guns are located on the top side of the ship.

yesterday an excellent viper pilot trashed a bad python pilot.....he jumped out with 60% hull left.....

If you allow the Viper to get behind you, yeah, you're going to lose. There are many maneuvers to out pace faster ships.

1. Do not joust, but, if the other player tries to, ram them.
2. Take the inner circle and reverse throttle to catch them if they are circling around you.
3. Boost, FA off, spin around if they are behind you.

You asking for stronger turrets tells me you're probably using them. Stop that.

Turrets and gimbals are great vs NPCs, but a bad idea vs a player. Fixed weapons all day for any close hardpoints. For the Python, that's all of them, besides MAAAAYBE the bottom HP, but not really, that one too.

If you have fixed multi cannons, in a single pass you'll have even an A class viper's shields down with hull damage, if not dead. Viper is just paper armor. If You flipped around, you can kill them before they get away, if they didn't already die or lose random modules in the first pass.

Sell or store your python and buy the viper and kill some pythons....

And if it's because you want to trade.....buy a trading ship.....

I bought a viper and a cobra. Just bought a Type-6 and once I have the cargo maxed I'm going to rig my cobra for combat. At least for now I don't think it's worth part exchanging ships when I can make 100000CR in two jumps anyway.
