Hey guys. I want to give PP my first attempt ... as I'm aiming for the bounty bonuses and the imperial hammers. I guess I can best start with undermining. What system do you recommend me? Any other tips are also welcome.

Welcome! And +rep for asking here; that way you get nice merits for yourself and can help ALD at the same time. To get started:


  • There is a good undermining tutorial at this place (and other tutorials easy to get to if you were interested). It doesn't, however, cover basic things like fitting an FSD Interdictor module to your ship and how to Interdict. If that is a mystery, try forum searches for info.
  • There is a thread in our faction subreddit Pocket Guide to this cycle which has up-to-date info on current targets in Hudson space. Read the short bit in the stickied post about Undermining, then check the most recent ones further down in case the Control System has already been done (undermining past 100% earns you merits but doesn't help our cause). You can read Reddit posts even if you don't have an account.

And a tip (or two): before starting in your target system, go to a station there - you will be a 'Hostile' in the system but not 'Wanted', so avoid Hudson Agents (called Federal Agents I think?) and the local system security forces won't trouble you and you are able to dock. Then go to the Contacts -> Power Contacts screen where it will confirm to you what your primary target ships are. Then choose a nearby system for possible escapes, refuelling, repair & rearming (sometimes an independant outpost in the target system will do for this). Once you make a kill you will be Wanted by the controlling minor faction in the system but in other Hudson systems you will still only be Hostile.

Just undermined the hell out of Hudson. Even took a picture of one of their planets (which I can't find due to the version I have). 5000000 in the bank.

Yes, undermining is probably the fastest, but certainly the least expensive way to rank up.

Other power's agents count towards undermining as well, not just the one whose control system you're in - except for Empire ships, if you kill those you get 10 merit penalty for treachery.
Eg. You're undermining Hudson, Federal Agents aligned with Hudson are not the only targets - if you see a wing of Cumo Crew Watch, or Alliance Enforcers - go for it. Keep in mind that they will interdict you as well, given the chance. Could be problematic depending on the ship you fly as these agents are often in tougher ships.

After coming back to SC, wait about half a minute before you start interdicting your target - most of the time a wing of targets will show up. Wing of 2 is good, wing of 3 is the "jackpot" - doesn't get better than that.

I headed for repairs every time my canopy started to crack. In a combat python that happened at about 1500 merits gained (or 50 ships killed). Sometimes sooner, sometimes later - it really depends if you get mostly wings, or single ships. I have never run out of SCBs, as most of these ships are of the small variety. Be happy if you get interdicted - if you submit, there's no damage.

I have 2 motivational screenshots for you which you'll have to imagine bc it's early in the morning and I'm before coffee - one shows 10k merits and time pledged 1 day, the other 50+ mil in bounties. In about 2 hrs. It's sick. (edit: of course you have to wait for the next Thursday for he rank to kick in, and you get your "salary" the Thursday after that)

Aftermath: get a hauler taxi & pancake it in every system where you were undermining to pay off the bounties if cleaning up your transactions tab is your thing.

1.4 changes

Well, a few things in 1.4 are annoying me: Galnet exits often take 2 attempts, plotted courses not always getting to Nav computer, repair fiddliness is back. Some other things will just need practise: AI pilot changes, interdicting harder, etc.

But one thing at least is great news: the controlling minor faction in our HQ, Kamadhenu, is now a player minor faction. Well done our band of ALD Inquisitors and the "Chapterhouse of Inquisition" minor faction, Patronage, with 60% influence in the system.

Unfortunately so did Hudson. :(

But we maintained Ida Dhoor and gained four good expansions.

Hudson lost a good system and is left with 40CC to expand which will probably result in a deficitary expansion by grinders.

And they had it coming, instead of competing with Mahon for the extremely rich reserves in the north, they decided to attack us in the last few weeks without provocation. For that stupid fixation against us, now they have forfeited all the richness to Mahon.
