Arissa Lavigny-Duval stance on slavery...

Having returned from a long exploring trip I am thinking of diving into powerplay for a bit. The powers motivations matter to me and I can't bring myself to support that petulant child and her Stop Stupid Slavery campaign. I can't see anything about Arissa Lavigny-Duval's stance on slavery in the powerplay overview though - anyone know?

She's pretty much into keeping the status quo. Very much for tradition and rule of law and order. So she probably won't abolish Imperial slavery but be warned, under her rule you'll find no black markets either.

Well, they're only for lawless scum anyway, so she sounds like my kind of ruler. Long live the Empress.

It's part of the Imperial way of life, Imperial Slaves are actually indentured servants who are paying off debt that would otherwise leave them destitute, which in the Empire is a very unhonorable and socially incorrect status. It is far more honorable to become an Imperial Slave, which isn't exactly what it sounds like. They are given a salary on top of their debt being paid off, they are given training for whatever job they will performing, and are treated as a normal citizen, they can vote, etc. Maltreatment of Imperial Slaves is against the law, as is transporting Imperial Slaves outside of the Empire.

Considering this, Arissa probably has no stance on the subject outside of it's part of the Empire, after all, she's very much the Law and Order Imperial PP character, hardly be good for that image to be against something that is so much a part of the Imperial way of life.

I think Arissa wants to maintain that tradition of the Empire.

Also, if you're thinking about getting into powerplay, choose carefully.

Difficulty of the powers range from Arissa a.k.a. AFK mode, and Archon a.k.a. Hell on Earth mode.

I'm lesas bothered about that, and less bothered about doing particularly well in it or being very highly rewarded. Its a principle thing. I am quite tempted by Zemina Torval but she has no royal blood and no real claim to the throne of our Glorious Empire - she's just rich.

Arissa has no real claim to the throne either. The marriage wasn't complete.

Technically true, but it was clearly what Our Beloved Emperor wanted, and she claims Him for her biological father which - if true - would give her a claim. She also seems the least likely to be involved in his death and isn't undermining the bedrock of the Empire like the princess. I'd happily support the princess if she was a bit more like her father; more traditionalist, particularly on the issue of slavery.
