Armour benefits for a Cobra

Hi all

Quick question:

Does anyone know (or can point me to) a run down of how much extra protection the different armours provide (particularly the Cobra)? In the outfitting section I can't see any reference to armour points to work out if its worth it or not (I want to make a mini Asp). All I can see is the weight penalties which is only half the story.

I wouldt worry about the armour, with level A shields plus a level A shield cell with about 6 charges you shouldnt have a problem

You have several different types :-
standard alloys cost no weight
mixed composite or similar to that weight added but better than standard,
military armour heavier again but the best around
slighty lighter reactive or reflective armour, 1st one better against ballistic weapons but worse against lasers, and vice versa for reflective

I generally think that if you're using a small ship for combat, armour is very counter productive since it will seriously hamper your manouverability.

Coupled with the fact that or minimum costs you need to keep your shield up, the armour becomes totally irrelevent.

True... but unlike viper and most others Cobra has natural high armour and low shield i would actually like to know some values on this armour upgrades too...
Actually trying to amass a few millions to do some testing with friends if no1 else does it first.

But what are the stats though? Are we talking 50 extra armour points extra for enhanced, for example? 100 for mil spec? Outfitting is a bit of a dark art.

I have reflective Armour, it has saved my butt numerous times. Shields can be dropped by a single rail-gun round even top spec shields like mine. Or you can get a barrage so heavy that the shields drop as the shield cell is firing! Get Armour because when the shield hits the fan the only thing between you and space is Armour.

I too would like to know the effect of armor. Currently have the military armor equipped on my cobra. I lose some jump range but I want to know if it' worth it.
