Engineers Armour engineering

So all you Vette pilots out there (respect)

Have you started to tinker with the Armour and if so..whats the setup engineer wise?

I was thinking of sticking with Military for now and engineering that. Perhaps upgrading sometime down the line (that other stuff is craaaaaazy expensive)

What type of mods did you go for or would reccomend as im largely undecided but am leaning towards Heavy duty armour with a few HRPs.

Pretty eagre to get cracking on this beast..

Reactive surface composite with thermal resistant mod, augmented by several heavy duty HRPs. This gives best resistance numbers and is usually considered best for PVE builds.

The only downside is obviously the cost of such setup.

mmm thanks but my days of shooting brainded NPCS are looooong behind me (thank god)

PVP for life!!!!

Cheers...

I'm currently using Mil Grade with Light Weight G5. Gets the same EHP as Heavy Duty, but with a lot less weight. That being said, it relies more heavily of resistances, so not as good against PAs.

I'm still undecided on Reactive withThermal mod; with several HRP, it's about a 25% increase in effective hull points, but almost doubles your rebuy. On paper, that really isn't worth it. Then again, I'd double my rebuy for an extra escape pod for my crew, so if you have an Elite minion you'd prefer to hang on to, Reactive will increase the chance they survive.

Up to you really. Like everything, the different armors all have pros and cons.

For the HRP, Heavy Duty everything. No other mod comes close to the hull bonus and resistances. Skip experimentals, none of the ones for HRP are worth taking (they're actually a net loss in EHP).

I second the light weight mil grade. I use the experimental deep plating.
Heavy duty on hull reinforcements and again, deep plating experimental.

I am only interested in pve. I prefer to work together with friends in a wing. The moment my shield gets to the point I'm about to lose it I am already heading out of combat. I am considering changing to a bi weave versus a standard shield. Never gotten a prismatic as I have never done power play.

With the bugs in the game currently due to the changes in the crime and punishment system, I have zero desire to ever touch power play.

If you only play pve and want to save Cr and/or mass, you can use the stock LW and HD engineering.
It has zero mass so no mass penalty.

(Oh yes, that reminds me to change the armor on the Cobra.)
There's plenty to be said for having a lighter faster ship with better than stock armor, for certain jobs.

Considering the prevalence of lasers used by NPCs, couldn't a PVE ship just get the reflective armor?

Honestly have had to worry about NPCs in over a year so i cant help you there really but i assume what works for PVP works for PVE.
