Around the world - Banner animals missing from the 5 covered continents

First upfront,. this is not to disparage Europe and it's absolutely needed pack. It just is the one continent that has a lot of wildlife that hasn't been exclusively covered yet. So I'm giving that space for it to shine when it's time comes, and I hope that will be soon! And Antarctica doesn't have a lot of wildlife that's really viable for the game at this point, sure there's a few but not much.

But...of the other 5 continents, if you had to make a pack that pulled one animal from each, to represent this most visible missing animal, what would they be? This is not necessarily the same as personal favorites (though they may qualify). Twist on this - no exhibit animal. 5 solid Habitat animals. No flying birds or fully marine animals

Australia - Emu. I know the Tasmanian Devil is more popular here, and I want the wombat so much more, but the Emu has a lot of general public visibility.

Asia - White Cheeked Gibbon. Ironically I would have picked an exhibit animal, the Indian Cobra only for this one continent, but I didn't want to limit other players. There's others I'd like to see but this is absolute a high profile Asian species.

North America - American Black Bear. runs for hills - I know, I know. I know. But it terms of species recognition, this is really the big one missing from North America. Sorry!

South America - this does align with my wants, it's very clear the Capybara is the essential missing South American animal. There shouldn't even be a question about this one.

Africa - probably the hardest one. There's still so many to choose from! But...the African Leopard. Even though the Amur Leopard seems to be running higher these days, and are more popular in zoos, it's hard to argue that the Leopard is one of the most commonly recognized African animals out there.

Asia i would choose the small clawed otter. Im honestly surprised in retrospective, that it wasnt in the SEA pack despite its popularity.

Murrica shall give me my Trash panda so peace might be restored to my aching heart and all my sorrows are put to rest when my saViour yeets himself out of a box.

Africa needs a monkey, would be fine with pretty much any baboon or guenon species but i think i would chose the De Brazas monkey.

And lastly South america could use more monkeys, so i chose the cotton-top tamarin as one of the most unique looking of them all.

Good picks! Trust me, after several mornings of coming out to overturned trash cans, the viewpoint of the trash pandas changes, but I totally get it! They are intelligent and look so...imma say it. Cute.

I recently met one on a bridge. Didnt knew they live in german harbor towns but the more you know.
First thought it was a cat, but when i drove closer it stopped and the moment i went past it he took his little muggy hands and run to the otherside.

Thats how fatefull moonshine meetings are at 1am

South America has got to be the capybara, no way around it.

Australia would be the emu, hands down. It's a shame, because I feel like a wallaby and tree kangaroo are nearly as essential, but the emu feels like it adds more completeness to the game.

For Asia, I literally flipped a coin, because I feel like a gibbon and a smaller otter are very close on the cruciality scale and I didn't feel comfortable making that call. The Asian small-clawed otter won. Buuuuuut then I reread OP's post and remembered leopards, so I'm stripping that victory from the otters and awarding it to the Amur leopard.

Africa leaves me torn, because I just know that I'm going to have to pass over my beloved red river hogs once again. There's just no denying we need more monkeys. I'd almost go for a colobus if not for how much more oomph the Hamadryas baboon would offer.

And as for North America, honestly there's nothing at this point that feels nearly as pressing as anything I've mentioned thus far, even the ones that I didn't end up settling on. Most of the species I would've liked but didn't get still have a chance in Europe or if SA gets revisited in a big way, so I think the right move is to go for a NA-exclusive creature. It pains me to leave the raccoons behind like this, but I'm going all in on all 8 bears with this decision: give me the American black bear.

For Australia I would immediately choose the Emu, no doubt. An iconic choice that could easily be used for plenty of versatile Australian sections. Honorable mentions are the Wombat, a Wallaby and the Tasmanian Devil, the latter of which would fit well into an Endangered Animals Pack, in my opinion.

As for Africa, I agree that there's a ton to choose from. Some of my favorites have to be Serval, Caracal, Greater Kudu and Red River Hog, but none of them would immediately scream "headliner" to me. So, as we're still in desperate need of more monkeys, the Hamadryas Baboon seems a reasonable pick.

Asia needs a gibbon, but unless the team improves the climbing (and, more importantly, the brachiation) mechanics, I think we'll still have to wait a bit for one. The Przewalski's Horse would make a wonderful flagship animal for the aforementioned Endangered Animals Pack, so I'll go with the Amur Leopard instead.

North America just gave us most of the notably missing animals that we still needed in the game. I felt inclined to choose the American Black Bear as well, but I (and many others) would love some more otters in the game, so I'm going to choose a bit of a longshot here and pick the Sea Otter. (although that probably counts more as a personal favorite than an objective choice...)

Lastly, South America is the easiest choice: the Maned Wolf receives a honorable second place on my list, but the pick has to inevitably go to the Capybara.

I would have picked:

South America - Capybara - this does not need explanaition, as of the announecement of NA pack, capybara is the most wanted species in the meta-wishlist

Australia - I know Emu is really iconic, but I have to choose the Tasmanian Devil here, because its greatly unique animal, and would fit amazingly well with the conservation messege of the game, because of the efforts to make a big enough population that is not affected by contagious face cancer, more and more zoos around the world are started to keep them.

Asia - There is nowhere around it, I am voting for any Gibbon species - very unique and endangered. I am totally fine with the brachiation being handled by fixed animations via enrichment items!

Africa - I am really temped to say the Honey Badger or Secretary bird, because those are just my favourite, but in the spirit of the thread I gotta say either Hamadryas or Olive Baboon, because: we need more monkeys and those are somehow iconic.

North America - Wolverine

Hmmm…

Oceania is actually the hardest since I can think of so many,… any of Bennett’s Wallaby, yellow footed rock wallaby, common wombat, kiwi, emu, platypus, grey kangaroo, Tasmanian devil, any tree kangaroo, or any echidna could make the spot and I’m not sure I can choose between them - I’ll go with tassie devil because you made me choose one, but it hurts…. Why did you make me chooose?

Africa is hard too. But I like servals.

For Asia I like the Persian leopard.

As a South American species I like the vicuña

And for North America I want a coati although admittedly that feels like cheating to get another South American species :)

While I agree with you I would prefer the Indian Leopard like the one in the picture I know that Amur Leopards are native to zoos but I prefer the Indian Leopard found in Hollywild in my home state and I could be wrong but I think this species of Leopard is also in other zoos.
