There is a hotkey that effects movement speed, but I've never used it. I read about it in another post where someone else is having the same issue. I think it was the h t key, but I can't be sure that is right.

yeah it was me, having kinda the same issue. It was the "t"-key for switching between the two movement-modes.

I found you can also hold shift while moving. Much like sprint on many other games .
