ARRRGGGG Airlock loitering !! I'm in the hanger !!!!

So ... I'm in commodities looking for what to buy in my Type 6 with "A" mods .. and I hear this strange sound like I've bumped the silent running button and the shields are coming back online. So I pop out to the cockpit view and I've got a "Airlock Loitering" count down timer at 24 seconds. No way for me to do anything within 24 seconds as I'm IN the hanger !!

The PAD is one of the first PADs right by the entrance so I'm thinking I've been exposed to a coding anomaly. So what does one do with a 24 second, unexplained countdown to destruction do? I log out post haste.

Now .. the question is what happens when I log back in? What should I do when I get back in?

I'm going to take a picture of the cockpit in the hanger with the Airlock message as proof. But WTH?

Hmm, weird - but you did the right thing, when you reload you should spawn on the pad, in the hangar in a normal un-alarmed state.

thanks everyone for the quick "ya done right". I was really not wanting to lose my bling'd out Type 6. I've only been here a week or so and that would set me back a tad. Ok... almost to square one. Saved my Cobra and fit.

Had this happen to me back in January. I was docked and was in the hanger yet received an airlock infraction and wanted status. Relog was the only solution that I could think off, which thankfully worked.

Easiest option would be to hit launch, as soon as you're free, log out and log back in. You'll spawn outside the station. Then just redock.

I stepped away after going in the hanger to come back with ship destroyed telling me I had to pay fines, too. I had no idea how it happened but this would explain my situation.

OamodSias - "Easiest option would be to hit launch..." With a 24 second countdown timer and being IN the hanger, you're kind of pressed for time on making a decision. That was my first thought tho. However, I quickly calculated the odds of getting out of the hanger PAD and let free before the 24 second timer expire as being unlikely. Thus providing a clean, clear shot for the station guns to do their thang. Let alone, having my "evidence" strewn about the station interior for 'x' time period. Nope, all things considered I think I unwittingly did the right thing. I'm not one to exercise the "log out" mechanic but I'm also not so inclined to lose my ship asset due to a clear coding derp.
