Arsenic- Or Lack there of

I go to a planet (any Planet) that shows 2.5 or 2.6 of Arsenic, and I spend more than two hours and god knows how many rocks of different types, Metallic, Crop, Mesos??? and I get maybe arsenic out of maybe 3 or three... This is a insane way to spend your time. Put Arsenic in the damn rocks..

I had 0 when 3.0 dropped last week. I have 250/250 now. :D

If you're having trouble finding it, consider trading down some of your rarer minerals. The exchange rate is favorable as long as you're trading down.

Not to patronise you but do you know how to read the wave scanner? It saves a lot of time if you don't go chasing the wrong signals. Saved me a lot of time when I was hunting Selenium recently.

I agree that Arsenic seems to appear much less than the indicated percentage. For now, look for Polonium instead and trade for Arsenic at a raw material trader.

Polonium got a buff... I've picked up every piece of Polonium I've ever seen. 2,900hrs in the game. Before 3.0 dropped I had 20 pieces. Right now I have 65.

Instead of jumping on the whiner train here's a couple suggestions.

Use EDDB.IO to find a good planetary body near you with the minerals you want.

One of my favorites is Bokip 1. I used it just yesterday for a couple hours and picked up at least 50 Arsenic during that time. It has a whole bunch of other rare ones too.

As with all the bodies, it also has a large percentage of the common ones but the key to finding the good ones faster is to find the meteorites for instance. Keep tack of and remember what the better sources look like on the radar.

EDIT** Retracted, unnecessary.

No need to be patronizing lol, wave scanner isn't going to help him much if he's on a planet with a large material pool isn't he? That might not have occurred to you.

OP, the way material distribution on planets works is not based solely on the percentages on the surface map. That is secondary to the number of elements within a tier. (Common, Normal).

What you want to find is a Planet where Arsenic is one of very few in that tier.

Here's one:

TIMBALDERIS AB 1 D A

Here, Arsenic is the only Common Material. That means every dice roll, if it comes up 'common' will yield Arsenic. All you are fighting against, is the chance for other tiers to spawn, not other mats of the same value.

Armed with that, you should be able to find a planet to suit whatever your needs are at the time.

I hope this made sense to you.

I will see if I can dig out the planet name when home, it was one with a Guardian site and had arsenic and Polonium a plenty

EDIT* How about you guys get over yourselves rather than putting down a guy who is already frustrated by RNG? I'd probably just quit the game, taking flak* from people who don't even have the right answer? Pffft, not for me.

I was not aware of this. Great advice, thanks

I don't see how I was giving him flak. Just trying to help. From personal experience knowing what to look for on the wave scanner saved me a huge amount of time. Not everyone is going to know this.

I totally agree with you on the patronizing comments, but there were those of us who didn't patronize and had valid comments before showed up.

Yes, you are correct that it's good to find planets where there is low percentages of other mats, but that's not always possible and the percentages are not always accurate.

Your comment belittling good wave scanner usage was not constructive in the way it was said.

Even though your information is good, you should have taken a few more breaths before writing!

Well blow me down. Every day is a school day - have some rep :-D

You didn’t. You just got misunderstood.
