Arsenic, where art thou?

Feel free to post it. I managed to find two running around a planet for an hour. It was wonderful to see that discovered material pop up. 

Also, a buddy of mine told me to try running around a crater, that seemed to do the trick, but most things I have read states that it doesn't matter where you drive. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Finally home! The planet I was collecting arsenic from, and the occasional bit of mercury, was Timbalderis B1. If you land with the sun on the horizon it looks kinda pretty too [smile] Its a fairly flat planet with no real choices to make between hunting in craters or in hills.

The pool of mission rewards is so huge it would take more than "Just checking a few stations". ;)

Aye ok, but folk land at stations all the time so it's not like you need to go out of your way, so worth checking them.

You never know, you might find arsenic within a few stations!!

Go mining in a metal rich ring, they drop all the time and it includes germanium and tin

I have never found arsenic when mining in metal-rich rings (or in rocky or in metallic), but I have found it in an ice ring, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

All these poor CMDRs craving arsenic and I'm sitting on a bunch of them that I can't even remember collecting. I've never attacked a barnacle nor have I mined anything for over a year, so I must have collected them during an SRV run. If they've become as rare as people are making out, perhaps I'd best not waste them. I was about to try for a Grade 2 FSD upgrade for my explorer 'Conda with Felicity but maybe I should drop some more exploration data at Farseer and see if I can bump to Grade 3 first...

Ahh, but see, you don't need Arsenic for grade 3. I'm not entirely sure much over grade 2 requires it at all/ Probably totally wrong about that though.

Just found quite a lot while bouncing around on Shinrarta Dezhra A 1. Got quite a bit of polonium and petermolybium too.

you need to watch your wave scanner. you can use it to tell which type of rock is on the surface. you should only be looking for mesodiorite, metallic meteorites, and outcrops type 2.

The materials are easy to get. Arsenic is a relatively common material. It's easy to find the right planets to go to. Try some of the other engineer stuff and you'll find yourself wishing the engineer recipes called for more arsenic...

Picked up 4t of it tonight for a few missions in Deciat :) The RNG Gods love me it seems.

Is there a specific type of rock that i need to look for on the planets? Am i more likely to find it in an outcrop or some meteorite?

Yes, sort of.
Pay attention to the sound that rock signals make when the wave scanner picks them up. If the signal sounds like crickets chirping, it's almost always garbage. If the sound is louder, and more like a buzz saw it's usually one that contains higher tier rocks.

Are we all sure this entire game series isn't a massive troll by FD?

It gets me wondering..

My chem expert tells me there are only three trolling elements:

ARSEnic
TITanium
NOBelium

Back
Top Bottom
