Artemis Suit upgrades should increase concurrent genetic scans per Rank

Currently, there is no point to having an upgraded Artemis suit. Shields are never used for biology scanning, and increased oxygen is moot since a ship or SRV is normally nearby. The suit only exists for the tool. The genetic scanner tool, when upgraded, should allow the user to scan multiple different bio forms at a time, as many per rank. Example: I had to fly around a crater ~20 times to find 3 samples of 5 different life forms.. very inefficient! Ideally an upgraded Rank 5 suit should allow me to scan up to 5 different plants at a time, allowing me to make less hops with the ship or SRV and save time and effort. Otherwise, upgrading the Artemis suit is pointless and bio scanning exists as a performance art of getting in and out of a vehicle.
 
1000% yes to this. From the discovered engineering for the suits, there is nothing that is glaringly obvious for the Artemis suit either, (maybe night vision?). I would have thought we'd be able to engineer the tool to have more "canisters" but it seems like an underwhelmingly developed gameplay loop.
 
Agreed. I'm surprised there isn't already a mod to assist with this very concept. There is tool use energy down, and combat related, but nothing specific for Artemis.
 
A "tool boost" mod could also be introduced that would:

  1. Half power load/discharge time for the power tool. Spend less time in combat juicing up the Dominator.
  2. Half scan time for scanner. Faster scans/profile clones.
  3. Wide beam for cutter. Cut more in less time.
  4. More concurrent scans with genetic tool.

Basically, increase the efficiency of the tools to lower tedium.
 
It perplexes me to have a 4 suits designed for a specific tool use.

Can you imagine astronauts on the space station having to decide on which suit to wear because of the tool they need to use.

So, one suit capable of using all the tools.

Tools you carry are dependent on what your doing, where you landed, what the mission is.

Seconded, allow more canisters with suit upgrades (i'd say standard suit upgrades, not engineering), the tool does have a replaceable canister afterall!!
The lack of that disturbed me in alpha far more than the QTE scan!
