So I went to the station paying the most for Painite (I had 544T of the stuff representing 2.5 hours or thereabouts of mining). I noticed that the price of Painite was about 1/7th the price listed on EDDB or Inara. After digging around a bit, it appears that if I transport only 100T to the station then I can sell for the maximum price. So I build a special 100T cargo ship, bought back my Painite in 100T lots from the FC, and made six flights to and from the station just to get the maximum price.
Is this some incredibly lazy and incompetent attempt by FDev to implement supply/demand-like price crashing? This is a truly impressive low of engineering effort FDev.
Prices should reflect the mass behavior of players' buying/selling activities, not just one commander's. Furthermore, I should know the price that will be honored beforehand by looking at the buying prices of stations as per such tools as Inara and EDDB. How much cargo I am currently hauling should be irrelevant.
Have at it FDev apologists. But AFAIAC this is a new low of FDev laziness. I hope it is just a stop-gap for implementing a real fix.
