Since the FSD needs a minimum mass to lock onto - a small star - will man-made nodes be made? Nodes in which the FSD can lock onto and jump to. No planets, just a singular man made solid object. For it to be star sized, it would need to be made up of a conaiderable amount of... Stuff... And very big. Which is the problem. Say that meta alloys were much heavier than they look, we could make a star massed structure out of them. Unfortunately, the temperatures in the artificial core will be enough to spark it into a main or non main sequence star.
Anyhows... It would be really cool to have different nodes which we can lock onto. Not land on, since the gravity would be immense, but there could be special stations, beacons, outposts orbiting it. And also, the artificial star would be black and ominous.
What do you think?
PS: although there is little sense or use for this.... I feel like it could be implemented in the future.
