So, this is a bit of a random one, even for me but alas...

So, my conundrum is this...

I need to come up with a few Sci-inspired thingy's and basically just awesome designs for my Tattoo apprenticeship and I need some interesting and inspiring ideas from fellow fans and dude/ttes whom kinda also know the game, tbh


Oh and obviously some of you may also be quite into your Tatts lol

So my question is this, if you were ever to get a tattoo (or add another!) and wanted it to be Elite Dangerous based, what would you get/want/love to see?

All ideas welcome, I may even mock up a few, ill post the results! 😊

This. I have a tattoo myself. Now, I won't be regretting mine for two reasons.

1. I can deal with the fact they change over your life. Much research was done here before I went under.

2. My tattoo is a unicorn. I won't have to ever explain what it is to anyone.

Do not EVER get a gaming inspired tattoo, IMO.

I don't have any tattoos for two reasons: I change my mind on stuff, a lot. There would be many cover ups. Also the sheer cost of the sort of design I would get. I can't do simple.

Anyway that said, I'd probably use it to reflect some aspect of myself. So I might have a scene with someone fixing a badly damaged ship or playing about with the internals of it. The ship would only be there to represent my interest in sci-fi and would almost part of the background.

Hmm... aspiring artist asking for inspiration? Not very... artistic. You know what - let's mix experiences (no homo) and we'll be perfect since I have ideas but lack skills to transer them into real world.

I am right now looking at your avatar and it looks what you may be searching for - mailslot with a bit of surrounding, covered with different overlaying colors, finished in blurred/fading drawing.

Would look interesting, tho I more like admiring other's tattoos than having one.

I would never get a tattoo related to gaming but if I had too, I would include some thargoid textures into a larger project, textures like this:

Yea you will. I simply do not get the whole unicorn fad. Don't get it one little bit...seems to be big in very different groups from toddlers to hard core paintballers...I. just. don't. get. it. Why did you get a unicorn tat?

I have my reasons, and no, you probably won't ever fully understand. I also don't care if you somehow think you know me well enough that you know better than I do about what I want for myself, but it is pretty amusing of you to make such a bold assumption.

When I said I "won't ever have to explain what it is to anyone", I meant the act of literally describing what the image is, not what it means to me.

The people who actually matter to me, that is to say, not you, or basically anyone on this forum, knows exactly why I got it, and beyond them I really don't care if I get any funny looks. End of the day I'm not hurting anyone.

And please don't call it a fad. I can tell you right now that this was important to me long before I even knew of the memes. How do I know this? Simple. Up until just after I finished school I was not allowed to use the Internet, ever, because of an abusive household. Not looking for sympathy here. Just explaining to you why your assertion that it's a fad is wrong. Despite that complete cut-off from the world though, guess what I was fascinated in since pretty much day one? That's right...

Probably worth remembering that connection with the equine species in general is freakishly high, BTW.

So, with respect, please do not try to tell me that I will "regret it" ever again. Because you are wrong to an absolute.

What's important to you is different to what's important to me, and that's okay. Everyone is different. Such is the diversity of the world.

I think you took a left turn somewhere along your rambling ranty journey there and completely misread my post :D
I said "yes you will" in response to your "I won't have to ever explain it to anyone"...please read my post.
I couldn't give a flying rats monkeys left testicle if you regret it or not...or whether you had internet or not. I never once said you'd regret it or that I know you better than yourself, you seemed to have plucked these statements from thin air.
And yea, currently unicorns are a fad/trend...that's how the interweb describes them...don't shoot the messenger.

Hi guys, thanks for all the replies, I've been a little busy with RL and will look over the responses once I'm home.
