As Mad as a...Limpet!

Went to earn some merits mining in my python when my limpets:

  • Dance in a circle under the ship.
  • Make an annoying noise as they come closer & go farther.
  • Smash into each other and die.

Anybody else had this? (sure it wasn't like this before the update)

Same problem here mad limpets
And when i cracked a astroid whit a core the blaster wont shoot of the chunks off so imposible to mine core astroids
Confirmed - took Krait II out to Monazite hotspot & abrasion blaster couldn't remove chunks on inner core.
Still works on surface deposit

Still works on surface deposits outside of cores.

Looks like core mining as a complete bust!

Limpets are still dancing around a different ship this time.

It is so ridiculous I am wondering if a programmer was making an internal joke not intended for release and it accidentally got left in the game update.
I was thinking.... you couldn't make this stuff up. It's astonishing. I have no idea how this could happen, it's the stuff of 'only happens in a parallel universe'

Just tried another stint at laser mining and it's not too bad - I stocked a full cargo bay with limpets and got nearly full of platinum (Python - 192t cargo).
The sound is SOOO annoying - couldn't manage a session with a big ship - it's like flying an angry beehive!

The abrasion blaster issue seems more critical as you can't mine the deposits inside a core.
Could do with someone verifying before I submit another Bug Report.

My mining cutter has 320t capacity which is one hour (the correct length for me).
It can have 17 collector limpets released. It vacuums up very fast.
All the speed is lost when I pass by an asteroid and they all get wiped out. Then I must release them again one-at-a-time.

Plus, as you can imagine it makes a mess of the radar screen.

They fixed limpets not depositing in the cargo hatch according to the issue tracker link of the patch notes (even if the problem behind the original report no longer very relevant, with all the Titans dead).

Why it was also decided to make them do this, then, I can’t even think of an answer. Apparently just having them hold stationary under the ship was too difficult?
