ASP- A6 shield or A5???

What difference does an A6 shield make over an A5?

It allows a heavier ship to be shielded, but my Asp isn't that big. Is it stronger, does it take longer to depleat?

im wondering whether it's overkill for the Asp

A6 is indeed stronger, depends on what you plan on doing. For all purposes A5 is enough, but if you're going pure combat, there's no reason not to use A6

An A5 shield has a strength of 135,53 MJ, sacrifices 32 tons of cargo and costs 5.103.953 cr.

An A6 shield has a strength of 149,44 MJ, sacrifices 64 tons of cargo and costs 16.179.531 cr.

Same choice need to be done on a Clipper. It has a class 7 slot. Would you put 128 cargo there? Or 7A shield for 51+M cr that's "only" 30MJ stronger than 6A. I put the 7A in with 6A SCB, reducing the total cargo capacity of it to a measly 40T. No regrets as I have an Anaconda that do the hauling better.
