ASP Exploration build needed!

It's personal choice, but the fact remains, no hull = no ship. I thought the canopy was repairable in 1.2? If not then... well... put it this way... did you see the state of the 'Legend' Erimus ASP Canopy? One sneeze and he would have never made it back!

I did. Looked like a spider had gone nuts with webs. My hull % will dictate when I turn around, but the AFMU's don't take up much space and if something goes seriously wrong with the internals I'll have a chance to correct that and get back.

Where do you see canopy condition anyway? It isn't under modules.

I have some questions regarding AFM, maybe someone knows an answer.

As far as I understand, the reasoning behind fitting more than one is the advantage of having more "Ammo" available when the first one runs out, is that correct? Now, according to ED Shipyard, the 3A AFM has only 4000 ammo, while 3B has 4300 (the most of the class 3 AFMs).

What then would be the advantage of fitting a 3A over 3B? The "Rep" stat is higher, but I have no idea what that is. Or is the ammo entry in the shipyard wrong?

Might want to put at least 2 AFM units in there redundancy never hurt anyone, also they can repair each other. Also the basic stuff, Advanced disco scanner to rave and detailed surface scanner to get the most out of scans.

Where are you planning on flying to anyways?

You pay over the odds for a higher rated AFMU. I find 2 or 3 moderate rated units give reasonable amount of repair "ammo" without breaking the bank
The point of having more than one is so you can repair the other AFMU if/when it's damaged.

3B AFMU uses 1.55 electricity, ammo is 4300 and costs 874,800

3A AFMU uses 1.89 electricity, ammo is 4000 and costs 2,624,000

So it's a matter of cost and electricity use.

Lower power means a smaller (and lighter) power unit and distributor is needed. Lighter means further jump range.

Exactly, but that means that 3A costs three times as much and is worse in all relevant stats, or isn't it? All are weightless.
