Ships Asp Explorer | first engineering done | Exploration Role Advise

New PS4 player here and just finished my first engineering upgrades.
Struggling with understanding if my current Asp Explorer build is now roughly where it needs to be.
Anyone with experience can rate and / or advise on my current stats for exploration purposes?

Depending on how long you're planning to travel for, I'd recommend adding a heat sink or two to your utility mounts. You don't want to be dropping into the corona of a binary star system and have all your modules screw up because of heat damage.
An Autofield Maintenance Unit might also be a good idea as insurance for your canopy. It's hard to predict what you'll run into whilst out there and the last thing you need is a canopy on the verge of rupturing when you're 10,000 ly from the bubble.
I would even go for a low emissions modification to your power plant. The AspEx runs fairly cool as is, but having that extra bit of security can be calming. Even a Grade 1 modification from Felicity Farsser is good enough (in my opinion) and will only set you back one iron per roll.
Also, have you thought of adding a hangar for as SRV? Driving around a planet is great fun and you can pick up some jumponium whilst doing so.
These are just my personal preferences that I like to make whenever I go venturing out into the black. In any case, I wish you the best Commander. o7

I built your Asp in Coriolis there's several other mods available that would suit an explorer build like low emissions power plant to reduce heat, lightweight mods on sensors and life support to reduce mass, heavy duty armour on alloy bulkheads no mass increase but extra hull but it's down to engineer access and mats/data availability.

If your trip is over 15000 - 20000 LY consider taking a AFMU for module repair as they will degrade with time, unfortunately they can't repair hull so keep heatsinks ready if you drop in too close to a sun.

You already have a pretty good build there.

As already stated, add a heat sink launcher, a SRV bay and an AFMU and you're good to go ! Engineering the sensors (lightweight), life support (same) and shield generator (low power) can provide a further gain on mass and power but you won't gain many LY more... However, a low emission power plant and increased range or fast detailed surface scanner are useful (but not mandatory).

Fly safe, and far !

Only thing I can offer that hasn't been said is this, the forums are great for knowledge but experience is King and will take you a lot further. Nothing like the first time you jump in between 2 stars and watch your heat spike almost instantly to critical levels.

Happy exploring o7
