Asp or not

I am trading in a T6 at this moment which is more or less fully upgraded, my dilemma is where do I go now? I want to go exploring and bounty hunting but still be able to trade and while the T6 is fully capable of trading and exploring, it is not really capable of bounty hunting, well not with me at the controls lol, my thoughts are to buy an Asp

Thoughts anybody.

If i have enough money i would go for Asp, but upgrate it will take money and time, so far i use cobra for hunting/exploring and T6 to get some money fast

If you are going to do anything other than pure trading, then get into an Asp, it really is a no brainer. saving for the t-7 is all well and good, but if you dont like trading you will hate the t-7. I went from the t-6 to the Asp and did large ( 50+) rares routes, and had fun along the way doing missions and bounties to break it up.

Stock Asps are not that great and upgrades are expensive. Keep the T6 and buy a fully developed Cobra for that exploration/ bounty hunting itch.

This is coming from someone who has bought an Asp in the last couple of days. Not regretting it, but not loving it either......I miss my Cobra (sniff)

Keep the T6 for trading and get another Viper for bounty hunting or minor exploring. Cheaper to fully equip than the Asp and as effective.

That's what I did.

Don't buy an Asp, buy an ASP:D

no really, the ASP is very expensive to outfit. IMHO stick with t6 and cobra unless you really want the ASP. Then do it.

The Asp is decent against NPCs for bounty hunting, but is too large a target for its durability against other players. It is a giant flying barn door. I love taking on Asps because you can't miss the things. Definitely required for exploring, though. Much better view than the Hauler and you need the 30+ ly jump range when you get out into the fringes or between arms of the spiral and the stars are really far apart.

If you have more than 20M spare, buy the asp .. otherwise wait ... the stock asp really needs a better power plant, thrusters, distributor and shields, plus weapons of your choice - you're looking at 1.5m each for B internals, and 500k each for the class 2 beams which are delicious to use on NPC's :D

And ASP is nice at start. After spending another 14 million it becomes awesome. Whatever you are going to do with it, having an ASP is never a waste of credits.

Very true ... I'd love to get an Asp skin that has a dartboard on top and an archery target on the bottom :D

So what does the acronym stand for? I thought besides sidewinder, cobra, viper and anaconda, it's just another snake-name. Frontier used to be full of those.

Nonsense, a "trading" Asp is a very cheap upgrade from a T6 and is far superior in all ways, including adding 20% faster profit gain. There is zero reason NOT to upgrade from a T6 to an Asp ASAP.

Here's the only Asp config you'll ever need for trading, and it will get you to T7/Clipper that much faster:

I went from cobra to asp. I was worried about how much I need to spend. Most of internals are d except fsd which is c get 16 ly fully laden. Prob spent about 3-4 mill on upgrades. I just bumble along rares route dropping in at navs to get a few npc wanted. The 6 hard points and 4 utilities are really nice. Last rare drop off. 1.3 mill profit. Really enjoying it debating selling pimped cobra. Just remember to keep extra for ins and good amount of cargo and upgrade when you can if you want.

If you watch Top Gear you'll know how your not a car enthusiast without ever owning an Alfa Romeo. An Asp is similar , you're never a real ED pilot unless you have owned a fully tricked out Asp. Just listen to the engine noise, the huge jump range . Then get into a tussle with another ship , balls it up and get a 200k repair bill. It is a good trading ship with that big jump range helping you make credits faster through less jumps . Its a great explorer ship if not the only one to really explore with, due to yet again the big jump range. Just don't fight in it as it'll cost a fortune in repair bills.

Just gone from the T6 to the Asp, 120 capacity and 24ly range fully loaded plus a decent set of teeth on her as well. Might hold out for the Clipper rather than the T7 as well....

But yes, probably go for the Asp..
