Hello,
Wanted to create a love/hate thread for Asp setup as there has been word around on the ED forums that Asp is no good in combat and that the Vulture is the ultimate Fighter. I want to prove this otherwise: I have destroyed already two Vultures with this setup (while not looking for a fight myself, but instead got attacked by these two hostile commanders in Vultures. Asp 2-0 Vulture. (and I have never been killed by a commander even I have done my whole career in Open Play.)
I have used this setup for my Asp already a while. When setting it up, I thought that I want a ship that is capable of some small-scale combat, missions and exploration (as I was constantly getting missions in unexplored systems).
So here is what I came up with and I must say that I like it a lot. It is capable of defending itself and even catch ships that you want to teach a lesson
I would imagine that ships with chaff launcher would give it some hard times as the guns are gimbaled, but skillful pilot can always unlock target and use the Gimbals as fixed. That's what I do.
