Asp vs. Anaconda - equipment help?

Hi everybody,
so I am reading a lot about asp's having no problem dealing with anacondas. I am not sure if those are just sup error pilots or I just suck^^
Anyways, my asp is pretty much equipped with rank a stuff except thrusters and bulkheads. I heard having shield cell banks is a must? How many do I need?
I am using a missile launcher(unguided), 1 beam laser 1, 2 pulse laser 1 and 2 multi cannon 2. I read that just using multi cannons are pretty good and rip through shields too. What weapons should I get?

Also, it seems the best tactic against an anaconda is (as with every ship) to stick on his tail?

I am just frustrated as I can deal with most stuff except the anaconda and I want to do so e assassination missions as I am still suffering from the gamma reputation bug (at least made it to unfriendly with the federation)

May want to grab some chaff to put his gimballs off, and maybe electronic countermeasures for missiles, definitely the shield cells, and try targeting his power plant... he'll go down before his hull is at 0. Otherwise you've got the fire power to succeed. Good luck.

For hunting Condas I upped my shield generator to the size 6 spot, and I put a shield cell module in the 5 slot, ranked "B" I believe. Gives my 12 uses and is more then enough for the job, and can usually kill two Elite condas before the need to resupply. Also with focusing on combat with my Asp I have very little use for the cargo space so I am currently running around with none.

I believe my tactic to bring down elite Anacondas in my Cobra can also be applied for the ASP. My Cobra is far from fully upgraded and the Anacondas don't cause me much trouble. Given that the ASP has extra firepower, defense and my tactic does not rely on fancy maneuvering, it should be even easier to do in ASP.

You need a chaff launcher, and a shield cells bank. Get close, put full power to weapons and the remaining power to shields. Target the power core and start shooting with all you've got. You can use the chaffs whenever a new one has reloaded. If your shield is getting low use a shield cell but keep firing. Be as aggressive as possible and do not let the Anaconda gain distance on you. If you take hull damage, tank it and don't retreat. You will get less damage than he does because of your chaffs. If you pause firing and the Anaconda gets its shield up again, you've lost.

Good luck!

I guess the thing is really having those damn shield cells...Thanks for all the advice, will keep you informed on how I do

I haven't managed to kill one of these in my Viper yet :(

Got one to 3% hull when he popped me.

Next time!

Saying that I did kill one in my Eagle with some help from the police, but they got the final blow :( That was half an hour well spent!

So a full multi cannon loadout is still a good way? or do you mean normal cannons?

i am just reading all over agian, that people skip lasers as mutlicannons can shred shields fast enough tooo

didnt find those wanted mission targets so far, but popped a few other condas. rather easy in my viper. have 4 rocketlauncher a shieldcellbank and a heatsink. nothing more needed^^ 4 rocketlauncher just maw right through that big hull like its grass XD

Tried to take down an anaconda in my new cobra a couple days ago along with a stranger i met at the nav beacon.
We both used burst lasers and multi-cannons and we took him down to 1% before he jumped away with his bounty.

Shield cell banks and then... whatever you want. Everything combat relies on how many shield cells you can stuff in to a ship, as long as you have some your unkillable. Use it while you can though because they are bound to get nerfed :p

My Viper runs two small pulse and two medium multi-cannons. My Asp runs two small pulse, two small multi-cannons and two medium multi-cannons... I have yet to find a target that was hard to kill.
