Assassination missions lack of info

I see a few of these now and then. I've had my fingers burned pre 2.1 with them being in high powered ships with wings protecting them.

With 2.1 and the npc AI getting a buff I'd imagine they are even more deadly. What I was wondering was what you guys might seen with them post 2.1? I was hoping 2.1 might include some info on the target perhaps it's combat rating, ship type and whether there are other ships to kill all wrapped up in some lore or other.

I'd like to take one of these on but without a steer on what I'm facing it makes ship selection and fitting very difficult.
 
Up to Master-rank mission, you'll be able to do them in almost any at least a bit combat-capable ship.
Around Dangerous it starts to be fun, usually Clippers, FdL and whatnot, often with two Vipers mk.IV or iEagles as escort.
Deadly and Elite - I encountered FAS, Condas and two FdLs.
Haven't met Corvette or a Cutter, yet.

But if you have FAS or FdL, at least, you'll have no problems. In Vulture it can be dicey, as she doesn't do too good against wings, imho.
 
Cheers chris. I fly a courier since 2.1 dropped. Its not up to that sort of punishment I think. Just wish the in game info on the mission was much clearer so players can make an informed decision to rake the risk or not.

Yea, I agree that the mission giver should at least tell us what ship is the target flying.
But I became pretty accurate at guessing what I will be facing by the rank and the pay of the mission.

I fly Courier, too, and although some Elite Anacondas with two Rail Asps as wingmates are out of reach, mostly I'm doing fine in her.
