Assassination missions with no target ?

Hi all,

I think I have seen this a few times before, andn clearly once again tonight : some mission sends me to kill some bad guy, and I get updated with the target planet just as I enter the system. I fly there and I get a few mission signal sources (blue) during the half hour of babysitting the planet. Each time I kill the bad guys in there, but never any sign of the real mission target, and the mission eventually fails out of time.
Has anyone witnessed this before I file it as a bug please ? Or is the target randomly popping up or not in the MSS and I'm just incredibly unlucky ?

I'm experiencing the same thing... I attemted 3 missions in a row in the same system and found none of them!!

I can't speak for USSes, but I have found my assassination targets in supercruise at the designated time window which you can see in the mission details.

Even if the mission target is supposed to be close to a planet, make sure you are in your time window. If you go there straight after accepting the mission, you're gonna have a bad time.

Of course I know and have extensively checked about the time window :)
Those missions I can find the target in supercruise and those I have to scan the nav beacon behave OK.
The questioned ones are those I get the destination instantly when entering the system during the time window.
