Yup! It's free on Uplay. Once you download it, it's yours to keep so it's not something that's limited for a short period. :)

Edit:
Just an update for anybody who's interested - it's still available, from 18th to 23rd December now. World in Conflict complete edition (classic 2007 RTT/RTS game) and Watch Dogs (middling action/adventure game from 2014) are also available for free during the same period. They'd already given World in Conflict away earlier this month before the original AC4 offer started.

As the offer isn't valid anymore, mods can delete or lock this thread.

After buying it for both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox one...I staved off buying it yet again for the PC.

Having it now though [yesnod]

While it is the considered best of that series its a game that is ruined by icon chasing and that general homogenously generic open worldy gameplay. Theres some lovely moments in it though that puts it above the rest in the series.

Been playing it for some time now, it’s a very good game, lots of stuff to do, but I guess after 50-100 hours you’re getting tired of killing guards and fighting ships. There are a lot of bugs, it’s unbrlivable how many I noticed but it’s not more than what I saw in the Witcher games. Combat system is just awwwwwggg and the interaction with stuff in the game just full of anger and pain.

Still I like it, good story an 8/10 from me.

This game is not much different from The Division, Ghost Recon Wildlands, or any other open world online single player game. The only difference is there is actually a decent story here and the sailing mechanics are just plain perfect.

Like I said to Jezzah, there's not much difference between AC4 and the modern open world single player online games.
Sadly, bugs are everywhere and the engine, while impressive, has a ton of issues and is in desperate need of optimisation. I mean where the heck is the windowed borderless mode!?

Yes the sailing mechanics is just spot on, really like it. I don’t understand the mini game fleet manager, but maybe if I watch some tutorials it would make more sense .

It’s a great pirate game.

I never been much in to AC games but this one fits me perfectly thanks to all the pirate/sailing stuff, absolutely great fun!

indeed. You could also go so far as to say that the recent interest in developing games with Olde World Piracy at core is down to the excellent implementation of the piracy gameplay in this title.

It's so immersive! :D

And it was bound to have a sort of sequel. ;) Although this seems to be just a The Division clone on water...

Skull and Bones is just underlining how little Ubisoft know what their player base really wants in a pirate game...and it's not Call of Duty in ships.

Didnt they just tried massive MP combat game, what was it - For honor? The game that lasted a month and nobody is playing it anymore?

Damn, I knew I should've waited till now instead of buying the original collectors edition when it came out ;)

Haha yeah! :D But it's a great little game and I'm actually quite pleased overall with Ubisoft still producing single player games like this, compared to other companies that claim gamers aren't interested in single player games... ;)
