Assigning completed projects

Seems like there is no logic to it, other than for the system to assign completed projects to factions I do not prefer.

The only exception to this is when I newly colonize the first port. Otherwise every additional asset I complete within a system is assigned without any consistent logic I can perceive, other than to annoy the crap out of me.

It would be nice if, at least, the asset assignment was weighted towards influence. Preferably, an architect should be able to pick the faction that will get the asset they are going to spend hours working to complete.

I realize I can manipulate the BGS to get the asset to the faction I prefer. But I don’t have the lifespan of a lich.

Thank you.

/end of rant.

Here lies the biggest flaw of Colonization: the Architect is completely meaningless.
You work your butt off to build a system, and it gets assigned to bozos left and right... and you get nothing. Oh, a name when someone wants looks at it. But you don't exist there.

The basic thing people want is to call something their own.

The Architect should automatically receive his faction in the system. Non-expandable, you stay as a resident faction - can't be kicked out of the system, nor can you expand from there. You exist only in the system(s) you created. Other factions can remove you from being the controlling faction on this or that station, BGS still works normally, you can BGS your way back into control etc... but your Commander exist there, in the system you created.

That would be a fine incentive to Colonize.

There is a lot to like about Colonisation, and I understand it's not something I'm forced to do.

But to your point, some additional authority would be nice, since there is a pretty huge time commitment involved in the process.

My current guess is government type.
I did only 2 systems, but, when main faction was democracy everybody got assets in influence order amoung those who had none. BGS switch was accounted too.
Now I do feudal government, they take ALL.

P.S. it could be just different server revisions though, as time between "tests" was big enough.

Interesting hypothesis. I wonder if being a cooperative government has a similar impact on distribution.
