Assistance in LP-98 (Open)

Quite disgusted at a certain player's actions at Freeport. I've heard of people doing things like this but it was the first time it's actually happened to me.

Initially I logged in to the hangar, and hit launch. Seconds later my shield is down and my hull is at 12%. This player is sitting inside killing everyone that takes off before giving them any kind of fighting chance. He's using 4 cannons and has a painted orange viper.

After talking with him, his reply was

"This is an anarchy system"

"Freeport is Mine"

"The tears of players are what fuel me,"

There is no asking for loot, no pirating. It's just murder while knowing they are taking advantage of certain in game bugs.

I hated this kind of mentality in EVE. It's one of the reason's why I left in the first place. I can't wait til we can group up properly to deal with people like this.

If anyone fancies some PVP you should head down to Freeport and give this guy a handful of justice.

I like that... get five or six guys all loaded with HS's, he'll panic a bit

I accepted. I have been trying to take him out for several attempts now. I believe he is using some kind of enhancement tool to boost his shields and hull beyond it's abilities. Using the exact same loadout as him, my weapons barely scratch his ships shields, even at close range.

However when he shoots- it does critical damage every time, even at distances beyond 5k. He is 99% accurate with his weapon and is flying in assist off the entire time however doesn't seem to suffer the consequences of fast movement combat (turning like a turret)

I was bound to encounter a person like this eventually, guess I've been lucky until now

From your description, it sounds odd. Damage from 5km away sounds more like some network oddity/bug, like a second ship shooting you that is not properly part of your instance.

Edwin, you're apparently at Asellus Primus... and I'm parked outside Beagle 2 Landing now.

I believe the player has logged out for now. It probably would have been fun had he not talked in such a cocky no cares given attitude.. however it was enjoyable watching his ship explode from station fire the few times he missed me while I was undocking

I know it's against forum rules and policy, but I'd like to see a Hall of Shame section where these pilots could be named.
I've only played in Solo because of things like this.
I have a temper and hardware is expensive.

Yep I added you. Thanks for trying to assist, same to you Krem.

I have trouble finding anyone that isn't based in the US in Elite, so it's kind of hard to meet up quickly with other team speak members. There were quite a few that were trying to help but just couldn't reach my instance despite them being on my friends list.

The outside station fighting was fairly exciting, just wish he had a more mature mentality about the entire thing. It was obvious he was doing it to invoke players into becoming upset.

Hoping these kinds of incidents will be rare once the full games comes out

Having a hall of shame simply provides griefers with a scoreboard. Being on it is something they would very much enjoy.

You are better off reporting them to FD and helping to identify any exploits they might be using.

I tested this function and I believe/suspect it's not actually monitored/used by FD. Also there is no way to link footage/screenshots as "evidence" (to be corroborated by logs by FD gamemasters etc). Imo we should be able to attach these to player reports after release.

Since the guy was probably not just griefing, but suspected cheating (according to feedback received on TS at the time of the incident), the best thing to do imo is open a ticket instead. Just to make sure this gets picked up by FD, in case he didn't report his hacks to Frontier himself.

note: non US players don't bother to intervene. It's impossible atm to join the correct instance.
