General Assists & Scanners

Flight assists should be standard for all ships, intrinsically, and they should not take up a slot.
I do not want to discard my flight assist for a refinery. It's the 32nd century, I think automatization should be at it's peak but autoflight and autolanding should be enabled regardless - a software payment / mw usage should be a fair tradeoff.

Surface Scanner should be external equipment and not optional internal.

Have to disagree; I don't want any assists on my ships, so from my perspective - if you need em or want em, fill a slot. I don't wanna have a software payment or mw usage for some junk I don't even want on the ship at all.

It's just a pity we can't rip out the actual flight assist module too. I'd like to throw it into a drive exhaust so I never have to turn it off again. At least the other ones can be stripped off and thrown in the bin.

Flight assists being modules isn't because FDEV are still thinking like they were in the 19th century, it's because FDEV want to make fitting out a ship a choice of advantages and disadvantages, of balance and benefits. It's the way all games work. If they just set it up so everything you needed for mining, bounty hunting, exploring, trading, mission running and etc could all fit in one ship that's all people would do, buy 1 ship and never change.

I do use super cruise assist, but if they were to take the extra slots back that they gave the ships to fit those, I would never use it outside of my Expedition Anaconda as it has a few slots to spare.

From a technological perspective, it's practically idiotic. Just like the multiple types of limpet controllers. They are software packages. They should be treated as such. One would not have to use them even if they were rolled into the ship's computer.
