Asteroid belts finding eachother in wing

Hi Commanders!
-
So we figured out a lot of stuff while flying tonight, but there was one thing that we never could get to grips with and that was how to find eachother when one is inside a resource site in an asteroid belt and the other is outside super cruising. I noticed the NAV LOCK within wing but never figured out how to use it. Also, when i was inside a site my friend could not find which one i was in. I saw it was "SITE C" i was in, but when he checked my wing status (bottom left target information) it just said im in "resource site", and no info on which one. Although, even when locking onto a site from supercruise it doesnt mention that either (lettering). It just says "high" or "low", and there are multiple of those which makes it near impossible to know which one your buddy is in.

Is there a way to know this or is there a way to lock onto eachother in wings if one is super cruising and one is inside a site so that you can find eachother without having to come out and basically lead eachother down? Im guessing there is and we just havent figured it out.

Thanks in advance. :)

Turn on the wing beacon - you can do it in the right hand UI panel or the comms menu. When it's on, you will see a wing beacon on the screen, coloured blue, which you can lock on to. This functions like all other navigable points in the game in that you can target it and drop out of supercruise straight into your friend's instance.

I want to add to that. If you activate your wing beacon (right UI panel or comms menu) your friend will see your Signal in his left UI panel under contacts. He then has to activate nav-lock under the top left comms panel (by clicking your name -> engage nav-lock). While he has the nav-lock engaged he has to target your signal and fly straight to it (you can fly full throttle with nav-locks and drop out instantly at the location). There is one important thing to note though: you can't drop out to someone in between asteroids, if you are mass-locked your friend can't reach you this way, so get some distance from the rocks.

yes, the correct usage of nav-lock and beacons is a bit finicky, you have to switch Wing Beacon on again once you relog. Engaging supercruise while you still have a nav-lock engaged will insta-drop you too if you don't switch it off before your FSD charged completly. So you have to switch nav-lock on/off on occasion while playing in a wing and always remember to keep wing beacons up on members you want to jump to
