Astounding Marketplace Updates FD Please Note Discrepancy!

I am in a system where I am allied and the faction controlling the station now has total control, literally.

The station has now started to allow the import of Slaves and now also produces Battle Weapons. The former was previously illegal and the latter was not available for purchase or sale. HOWEVER, the information on the System Map still lists both Battle Weapons and Slaves as illegal at the port, yet Battle Weapons are produced there and Slaves are now listed (like Battle Weapons) on the Commodities Market directly.

So two questions. Can systems now introduce new products or allow production and/or sale of previously banned products on Commodities Markets if the controlling faction is all powerful? Second, is there an oversight FD by not updating the Information in the System Map?

Hmmmm. I guess I found some secret FD testing in Open. I quickly bought a Sidewinder to buy a ton of Battle Weapons, to find the item now removed from the Commodities Market. A glitch FD or a secret test of factions introducing previously prohibited products as legitimate trade items?

OK so in HR 7793 Slaves are in High Demand and Battle Weapons are now in Medium Supply, both never having been listed on the Commodities Market before. There's a low intensity conflict zone between two insignificant factions and my ally, the controlling faction is now in Expansion mode and I've just delivered a load of auto-fabricators on contract via the Bulletin Board, so they must be stepping up production.

FD please note, the System Map still shows Battle Weapons as illegal even though they are bought and sold there on the Commodities Market and also Slaves bought there on the Commodities Market and once again, listed as prohibited. Not quite brave enough to buy some slaves to ship there or Battle Weapons from there, leave the station, then apply to enter again to see if the authorities go crazy over the cargo.

If all is now legit here (oh and my ally hates the Federation) then can you please update the System Map?

One other thing dear readers, the Federation has set up a Checkpoint with two Elite Cobra III ships and a small Federation Warship, plus 4 Nav Beacons and the Feds are declaring to passers by they are after this system. At the same time the Independent faction is making a play for Attach via a subsidiary faction.

It's all go here right now, but I'd like some clarification on whether stronger faction presence can cause new products to become available or wanted. If so then there must be a mechanism to update the System Map to correspond with changes in the Port.

HR 7793 is the system. Will post updates tomorrow. I was wondering if it was an algorythm test by FD whereby factions can alter the marketplace and bring in previously prohibited goods to the Commodities Market by having such strong influence. Would make an interesting twist to the trading mechanics.

I believe this is a known bug and will be fixed shortly. System map not changing to reflect system changed state.

Also note, if the galactic faction changed, this might or might not change when the galactic map is updated...weekly, rather than daily. Not a bug, working as intended. They utilize different assets for determining this state, and Michael has stated specifically that Galactic Factions would not turn over these assets automatically...<shrug> I believe this might be one of the dev controlled states, at least currently, to protect the galaxy from disastrous bugs related to faction flipping (i.e. a problem causes a cascade incident that flips all the Federation systems to Imperial).

Thanks for this. HR 7793 buys Slaves legally and sells Battle Weapons now. I just bought 1 ton of Battle Weapons, left the station, got scanned and returned. All seemed ok.

So a question. We can buy system market data. How can we view this before entering the starport? With Battle Weapons and Slaves switching on and off, it gets a tad worrying on approach whether they are legal at the time of docking.
