Astronomy / Space Astronomers have stumbled across the biggest object ever detected in the Universe

Astronomers have stumbled across the biggest object ever detected in the Universe… and it’s a void that stretches for 1.8 billion light years.Distinguishable by its emptiness, the ‘supervoid’, as it's being called, isn't the only hole in the Universe, but it's the biggest patch we've found, and is abnormal in the typically evenly distributed Universe.

Wow, thousands of times larger than our whole galaxy! How does does something like that happen?

Let's just remember the wise words of Yahtzee Croshaw:

"Gaze ye not into the abyss, lest the abyss's boyfriend get narky."

We took up residence on one of the eggs that were laid billions of years ago and are now threatening to destroy the egg. That's mum heading back to remove the infestation and she's not a happy bunny.

Interesting how they called it the biggest structure in an article, while in fact it's the biggest lack of the structures :)

Beside that...

You need a permit to go there! The FDEV are planning to have thargoids there....if only astronomers could call FD and solve the mistery.

Nah Peter Hamilton already figured this out in his Void series. Its obviously an alternate universe thats being powered by the consumption of galaxies.
