At last, my Explorer's Badge of Honour

Well done, Commander.

Finding it first is only half the battle. You must also be the first to turn in it to UC in order to earn the accolades and naming rights.

Safe explorations!

Well done CMDR.
I had the same question of whether to turn back or press on, I decided if I'd found one, I could find two, and increase my chances of making sure one of them was mine when I got back.
Dont turn back now, you're only just starting!

I'd say always go on. If you don't get your name graffitied on the stone it wasn't meant to be anyway.

I've only found one and I blew up before I got home :(

I still say go on, I'm going to swing back past on my way home this time, it'll probably still be there...

Thanks for the reps, all.

Turn back or go on? Turn back or go on? Ooo, what to do, what to do?

I'd say, it depends where you are...
If you are in a "touristic spot" there's more chance someone comes a steal you the 1st discover...
If you are close to the inhabited zone, there's more chance someone steal you the 1st discover...

Now, i'd say if you are more than 2Kly from Sol in the middle of nowhere... Then you're probably safe... well probably.

And... keep in mind, you might not be the first... may be someone already came here and is on his way back home... ;)

Congrats Commander... I have now got 5 ELW to my name, and the first one I found unclaimed, I ran back to get my name on it... after that I relaxed a bit and so I have been ok and nobody else has got back before me - keep the location as when you get back you SEE your name in lights.... a great feeling

I went back and got the tag.

OK, so I decided to go back.

My reasons?

I had just come back to sign up to the CG at Lembava and was on my way back out, taking a different route from usual. The system was just 20 jumps from Lembava - well within the 1 Kylie "boundary". It didn't take long to run back and then get out into the black again.

Thanks for all the advice, but as the man says, we have to make our own decisions.

Fly safe, my fellow followers of Phileas Fogg :D
