At least one game will be getting aviaries, shame it takes place in the past.

Not a fan of extinct animal parks, but I have to admit that after watching this game footage trailer, I will be buying this game just to play around with the assets and imagine what I could do with them in Planet Zoo. The aviary at 1:22 looks spectacular, and to think that this is a tiny little company in comparison to the massive Frontier Developments. There is absolutely no way that if this team figured it out, we will be deprived from it in Planet Zoo. So many other features look amazing in this game, others lack in comparison to Planet Zoo, the visitors as an example while they look a lot more realistic than in Planet Zoo, move kind of funny, in an abnormal way. Loving all the plants and building pieces as well, highly realistic. In any case, I thought some of you would find this video interesting, in case you did not know about it.

Yeah, I have been watching some of their early development videos and the game really does look great. Some of the building pieces, and the way you build and landscape look great. I love how you can morph and shape rocks as you are placing them. I am also not a big fan of prehistoric animal games, but I will be getting this game just so I can design and build. Anyone who thinks Frontier should have prehistoric animals in Planet Zoo just need to get this game. And yeah, the aviary at 1:22, you need to do that Frontier for PZ.

As much as I would not like extnict animals in PZ, Prehistoric Kingdom is a must buy for me. Game looks so good, really like how you can scale objects and the aviaries and aniamals look amazing. It is worth the wait and I am amazed what they were able to accomplish with such a small team.

Looks good - but the zombie guests look a bit weird, I couldn't get over the guests walking through each other, but the animals look amazing - I love the guest engine or mechanics in Planet games much more - but the game play in this game looks better than JWE - the plants especially, might have to buy it . . .

Also from what i've heard on a previous stream, the performance of the game would be way better than planet zoo... So no 5 fps game when you have almost half the map in use :)

This game has been on my radar for about a year and I already have it wishlisted on Steam. I am definitely buying it.

The building system is very similar to PZ, there won't be as many limitations with the terrain - water, you can have 3 different variations (skin coloration) of one dinosaur (or something to that extent - it was in one of the dev logs), there's a brush tool for foliage etc. So many cool stuff coming with Prehistoric Kingdom and I can't wait for the release.

Tbh so far it looks like PZ but with dinos.

The game won't be released soon, the guests were added 4 days before the trailer. So yes, they are really weird right now, but it's just because they wanted to get it in for the trailer. :)

Those guests look like zombies to me.
On another note, I see a lot of things that are clearly influenced by other games.... But that's quite normal.

Does look interesting though.

I’ve been impressed with this game for quite awhile. This is the type of jwe I prefer frontier to build also which would probably end up being planet dinosaur instead but oh well. I really wouldn’t be surprised if pz did have aviary dlc at some point as they’ve already proven they are capable of making it. Anyway I’ll definitely be buying prehistoric kingdom next yr when released.

Yeah, normally not into pre-historic animals outside of the Jurassic franchise. But I will probably buy that. Looks awesome, especially if you think about that this is a very early developement stage.

With the aviaries, I have a feeling that the birds aren't free flying but have determined routes they take in the cage. At the moment, if you want to compare them, they seem to me like the animals in Zoo Tycoon complete collection in terms of path finding.

As much as I love Planet Zoo and always will, I kind of hope Crytivo will make a zoo simulation with living animals in the future. Maybe I'm just grumpy, but I'm at a point where I feel like direct competition would be healthy for the development of Planet Zoo AND any competitor. Frontier is no indie developer anymore as far as I know, but if their history has showen one thing with Planet Coaster than, that indie developers are good in kicking the behinds of big ones and in this progress bringing the genre they are competitioning in to a higher level.

Exciting times for me here :D First a new zoo simulator, than somewhat competition and looking at paralives, even the world of live simulation will be turned upside down. Feels good to not having the feeling of being a complete niche gamer anymore.

The one thing I’m super excited about in prehistoric kingdom is the inclusion of prehistoric mammals and birds. I love dinosaurs but there’s been several Dino zoo games or games in general to this point. Now a zoo game with all prehistoric mammals and birds that’s what I want to see someday. I know there’s been a high request for prehistoric for pz but I prefer pz do what they’re doing with modern animals but I’m glad prehistoric kingdom will be that game and in return hopefully open the doors to more companies making zoo sims and providing some much needed competition as it should bring out the best in all titles.

Watching other and more video's, I'm not convinced this will be what I want/expect it to be.

Animals look great.
Nature looks great, but not any different from Planet Zoo.
In terms of construction. It's only "ready to place" buildings (with some options to change look/function), so nothing really that different from JWE, and I like constructing my own things. So for that not my thing.
Guests act and therefore look terrible, which really puts me off.
The trailer doesn't show anything special about the animals. They are either eating, sleeping, yawing or walking (in a straight line).
I'm really in doubt how much of my own creativity I can put into this game.

And the aviary showed in the trailer most probably works/acts exactly the same as the exhibits we got in Planet Zoo.

So for that reason I don't think I'm buying this and I do not consider this more special than the games we already have, besides having a more special animal roster (and flying animals).

I'll await full release, watch some reviews and video's and decide from that moment whether I like it or not.

Yeah, guest animation is so awkward, I totally agree.
And actually, there was an developer streaming just yesterday. And as you guessed, in the beginning of the early access, animals will have the basic ai, and additional behavior will be introduced afterward.
What the trailer didn't show, however, is there will be modular building implemented with the beginning of the early access.

So, you sure do have plenty of time to wait and see whether it appeals you.

Seconded. Hopefully this lights a fire under Frontiers' proverbial behind!
