At what range is the Alliance looking for Habital worlds for Colonisation?

With Reference to the Community Goal for Potential colonization sites, should we focus our efforts in a certain range?
How far is too far for this colonization effort.

It would be a shame for find an Earth like world but it be forgotten as it is too far from home to be useful

Of course I ask as my ultimate goal is to be the discoverer of one of the world chosen for colonization.

Any scanned data will work. I had about 100 scans from a few weeks ago when I was running back and forth between Tanmark and some of the other Community Goals. I turned those in and wound up in the top 15%. You don't need to detail scan anything from what I can see, just doing the initial system scan should be enough.

Yes, to score "credit:" cor the CG it seems just pings, but I am assuming an actual colonization will be the end result. New outposts or something so the actualy planets might matter in that case.

They paid me for Sagittarius A*. Any will do.

Feels good to have done nearly 10% of the total contributions!

Again I understand they will pay for any data, but I seem to be struggling to communicate my question, which is not "what data will they pay for" or "what data will they accept" but if the colonization attempt is successful will the colonies be within a certain range of Alliance space.
If there is a certain range then I would look to focus my efforts within that range to see if I find an Earth like world in that range.

I'm about 3KLY out, do I need to register for this or can I just turn up in a week and sell my data?

Oops, sorry, answeredf in a previous post...
