At Yellow Star, Out of Fuel, Fuel Scoop Not Activating

What class of star is it? "yellow" doesn't mean much. Some "yellow" stars are non-scoopable
Is your fuel scoop turned on?
Do you have enough power?
Are you getting in range?

Just because it's yellow does not mean you can scoop fuel from it.

Rule of tumb, KGB FOAM any stars in that accronym (single letters) can be scooped, others not.

I've seen Fill My Big Old Kettle And Go as well 
Go to www.fuelrats.org, follow the link to "I need help" and then say "RATSIGNAL"
(oops, I just re-read your post more carefully. You're not out of fuel? Yeah. Some stars are not scoopable but look like it. Just look for the corona rings around it. If there aren't any - don't try to scoop it or you'll take heat damage.

Well I'm here. It was unexplored until I got here; it's a T class. Looks like an active star, but isn't. Nice corona.

Thanks, wish I could claim it. I'm sure I saw it on one of these forums somewhere. But yeah it worked for me, never forgotten after only one read.
When stuck in space with no fuel, or not enough to jump to hyperspace sometimes you might have to activate the self destruction sequence.
I probably would made him buy a new or replacement ship, by way of lasers.
