Attacked by 3 players, and came up with a new tactic

+1 Rep to you sir, sounds like everyone had fun in that fight. I would exercise caution with this tactic though, if the NPCs had gone RED you could've had 6 ships on your tail. Still!

Oh no, two corvettes and a python...what system were you at? I have a sneaking suspicion I know who it was! See my other thread. What were you flying?

Good thinking!!

I am wondering how long it took for one of the Cmdr's to hit the clean NPC after you began your scraping tactic? Also, were your shields still up? Hull percentage?

Wondering if this would work for a smaller (FAS, Cobra, Python, etc.) ship.....

I was in one of the corvettes. The cmdrs were flying an assault ship, a Python and a corvette

The assault ships would only gone red if I shot one. Ramming does not turn them red. Useful if you want to attack a wing, ram one a
couple of times before opening fire.

This is the perfect example of what i always say... open play motivates creativity and diferent mechanisms of playing.... now you have some interesting story to tell.

Proof that NPC wings would help this game so much more.

yeah but.... seems you all forget that griefers will be able to form wings too :(

Wings* have a maximum of 4. Even if it's 4 CMDRs vs. 1 CMDR + 3 NPCs, it's still immensely better than 4 CMDRs vs. 1 lone CMDR. Right now, as a lone CMDR, when you are attacked by a wing the only option is to run away (unless it's one of those lol Hauler attacks, and even then...**). That's not what I call engaging gameplay.

If an NPC wing mechanic would allow me, as a lone player, to take out at least one of my attackers before going down in a blaze of glory, then maybe I would sometimes choose to stand and fight. Maybe my attackers would get their kicks by taking part in a tough fight.

*"player wings"
**there was a video somewhere, can't find it, about two Hauler player pirates in a wing against a Cobra. They made the Cobra run away eventually.
